If you want to hear the music in the game then you have to go with bin and cue, for example I was playing Sega Arcade using an ISO file and all I could hear was the sound of the punches when playing Streets of Rage then I got a bin and cue version of the game and I could hear the music as well.

So your saying for the Sega CD if I just have the ISO. It will play just not with sound. Ok I will try again.

Nevermind after looking an PC Emulator I figured it out, and got it running. Finally Silpheed on my Wii! YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!

That's right, unfortunately Iso/MP3 are not supported now, but it will be in the near future.

Like I said thanks for the help! I got it working and lucky for me Slipheed has sound in the ISO. So when I play it it's Sega CD prefect. It's the only game I want to play so I'm just fine.

I'm using the wiimote with motion plus inside and a classic controller pro. For some reason, after updating to the latest version of genplus gx when I try to turn on cheats for genesis games, (+) deletes cheats and (-) enables them. Before, it was the opposite behavior and the menu's suggest (+) to enable, etc. I dunno if anyone else tried this, but it's weird...

Anyone notice that Sonic CD lags? Maybe it's just been too long since I played it on the real thing but I feel like it lags more than it should.

Sonic CD always lagged much more than the Genesis versions, especially when you go hit or when there are many enemies on screen. No idea why but i remember this from the first time i played it on a Sega CD. The 3d stages were also slow as hell, they seem a little faster on emulator .

Considering CD audio tracks are not emulated, that's normal lol...
The only sounds that are playing for me are sound effects and some music in future/past levels, because those levels probably use genesis sound hardware instead (to make it like playing original sonic games maybe ?)

The past music in Sonic CD is playing from the PCM chip and the rest is redbook audio. I never got some future music to play in Sonic CD.

Well I tried a different dump/bios and it runs much faster now. However it always freezes when beating zone 3 of the first world so back to the drawing board. :(

Edit: Tried 2.21 and 1.10 bios, 2 different dumps od Sonic CD NTSC-U and game still blackscreens after beating 3rd zone of first world.

You are right, it's only the past levels that use sound chips, not sure why i remembered both had it.

@lovewiibrew: PAL versions are notoriously running slower, that could explain why it seemed so slow i think

About the freezing, i think it has been fixed in svn builds, check the googlecode page. I didn't tried it yet but saw some discussions about it in the issue page. Also, it seems that the game still saves despites it froze so you can reset and choose the continue option from the title screen and play next area.

understandable there, the game tries to play a certain audio track there to progress the game, if cdda etc isnt supported yet no wonder the game cannot progress

It goes past the turbocycle sequence actually, but you have to wait a few minutes (not sure what the length of the audio track originally was).
There seem to be a bunch of fixes related to Snatcher in SVN though...
