You can make subfolders if you like:

genplus\roms\md\
genplus\roms\ms\
genplus\roms\gg\
and so on

Or is there separate directories so when you click on the system icons from the main menu it only shows those system games?

Like if i click on the cartridge for mega cd then only those type of games show up and not master system games for example.


EDIT : Also what is the best bios version to use 1 or 2?

Didn't notice any difference between 1 or 2, but I am using 1.

I figured i could make sub folders as that is what i do with the vbagx emulator for gameboy/gameboy color/gameboy advance

I just wasnt sure if clicking on the different images or not automatically took you to those type of games in a certain directory or not.

Gensplus will remember the path once you pointed to it automaticly.

Mine freezes in black screen after the voice saying "player one"

Mine gives me a black screen full of text every time I try to run a Sega CD game. Genesis games run fine. I already tried to use different bios versions, but, no go.

I have similar problems, games giving black screens, not sure it is the images of the games or genplus gx...

Im using 2.00 without problems
I tested the latest 2.21 but it automatically loads the game skipping the intro logo (the one with the catchy music)

every game I tested so far works flawlessly (except for the missing CD audio)

I only had problems with Lethal Enforcers, other games runs just fine.

If you are trying to load compressed CD images (.zip, .rar, etc), the emulator won't detect a valid cd image and assume it's a normal genesis rom, which leads to a black screen. Generally speaking, i would assume that if you don't even see the bios running, it means the emulator did not see a valid cd file.

It's not my case, I have the images uncompressed.

Noob question here!. Just trying to make sure I'm doing this right. Hoping to get SegaCD games to work. I have 3 Bios files, a ISO, a Winrar of the same ISO file, and a image file. First is that everything I need to get it to play? Next I put the Bios in a Bios folder after renaming the files, and then put everything else into a rom folder? Is that all it takes or is there something else?

Just to let everyone know I'm trying to use the same files I use for my PSP Picodrive Emulator. Also I keep getting the Unable to open CD BIOS.
Here is another question. How do I create a Bin/cue files?

CD 32x games absolutely require the 32x to work and afaik kega is the only existing emulator supporting both Sega CD and 32x emulated at the same time. Must eat a lot of cpu time to emulate the whole thing.

Well I have the basic right, but still having problem with the Sega CD game file. All I have is a ISO. Do I have to create a bios/cue version of it?

If you want to hear the music in the game then you have to go with bin and cue, for example I was playing Sega Arcade using an ISO file and all I could hear was the sound of the punches when playing Streets of Rage then I got a bin and cue version of the game and I could hear the music as well.

That's right, unfortunately Iso/MP3 are not supported now, but it will be in the near future.
