You guys should come on over to the Switch, where we got emulators the Wii U couldn't dream of like 3DS (Citra), PSP (Wii U also has PPSSPP but on Switch the games actual work), Mupen64Plus-Next (very high compatibility), and Flycast (Dreamcast).

Don't get me wrong I have a Wii U also, but Switch is probably the best emulation console of all time even though it's a console/handheld hybrid.

True, but until I get a Switch my Wii U will do.

Yeah, but it's super hard to mod.

I have to admit that I haven't really been keeping up with Switch modding as I mostly only care about it for emulation and my N3DS and Wii U pretty much cover all the bases I care about, but last I knew you needed to have a Switch model that was unpatched during its first year of release. I think I recall hearing that some post patch models could be unpatched via a physical mod, but honestly man...nah. I'm good. If it ever becomes as easy to mod a Switch as it is to mod other platforms, sure, I'm all in, but until then I'm not spending a fortune trying to find an unpatched Switch or dealing with the hassle of hard modding mine just to have a few extra platforms of emulation.

You also need a non mariko model or a modchip. Both thigs are crazy expensive so no, thanks.

the wii u could run an n64 core in retroarch and the games would work better and you will still be able to use other controls to play with more people for sure the wii would run the most current plugins that make the n64 run well today

because the wii64/wii64 rice are even good but they are from the wii and limited the pro controls are not functional and there is no way to play with two people if they do not have the wii controls and on top of that it is limited to what the wii can do being that the wiiu is much better and much more able to emulate the n64 well
we could create a poll to see if people would like it because it would be very good as well as the ps1 core emulator on the wii u is being very good I played too much with my family together on the wii u.

some ppl dont think n64 is compatibility with Wii U. not all will work but at least 50 percent working n running. Loadiine old age did run and hope to see someone who have more thrill to experiment with Wii U N64 standalone or retroarch or inject

The most I can do is edit the wii64 rice ini plugin to run some games better, but the wii64 and a wii emulator injected into the wiiu if it were a wii one it would be better because the wii64 doesn't have support to play two players by the pro controler only works the gamepad and the wii controls :(
wiiu needs a core for retroarch wiiu

I wish I could have all this advanced level that the heroes of the homebrew scene have eternal respect and gratitude for keeping the scene alive. I would try to port each of these emulators that were missing from the console.
