A Wii U Cleaning disk will appear in the system menu when a blank CD is in the system. If you select it it shows "cleaning" for about 10 seconds then tells you to eject the disk. Once it's ejected the disk will fall out of the disk drive unlike normal disks, so be sure your hands are ready.

Maybe once we get the Wii U hacked we can make a WiiMC type app to play CDs (or DVDs and Blu-Ray if possible).
