So i was trying to upload a file to my personal Filetrip junk, and the file seems to upload alright, but upon trying to download said .zip it gets all fukky.
tried to up this shizz like 4 times. tried renaming and as a .zip and .7z
also, as soon as the upload is done it'll add a (1) to the name, even tho there is no other files with that name.

so wtf ??? , is it on my end or is it a filetrip issue?

correct size-

no good-

btw the images above were added to my Filetrip with no probs.

edit: by looking at the last three issues at the FT Request Center, i'm thinking its not just me.

can you tell me more details ?
- what browser are you using?
- are you uploading a single file at a time or multiple files?
- are you uploading via a browser, or via FTP?
- are you uploading under your account or as anonymous?

any detail will be welcome. I am indeed seeing a bunch of files with (1) or (2) in their names, that's not making sense to me, but I have to acknowledge that the bug is here.

I've been digging into the code and fixed some stuff.
I did have a problem uploading a file specifically called "Warrior.zip" myself too, so that gave me an indication.
Could you please try again now and tell me how it goes?

thanks

i reupped the same file (a psp homebrew port) renamed and as a .7z.
same results. with some added text to the uploads filename.

correct file size:
40195-size-right1.png

archive size:
40197-archive-small1.png

also, when i dragged two .png images it doubled them somehow and made them unviewable. had to up them one at a time.

hm, I have been trying single file upload the whole time, but I didn't realize multi-file upload would be causing issues.
I'll look into that.

try uploading files one by one for the time being. Are you getting errors when doing that? because I tested in all browsers and it worked normally (at least after I fixed it, see my post above).

well I am asking you to try uploading a single file *now* (as i've been doing some fixes) because i've tried with different files across multiple browsers and i'm not having any issues.
could you do that and tell me if it works normally? again I'm talking about single file upload.

edit: I am getting bugs with the multifile upload, but not with the single file upload right now...

okay so let me get this straight: the file name is correct (i didnt see a difference between either) but the file size isn't? (14.06mb vs 65kb)

yes, the discrepancy is the filesize. and its a corrupt UNextractable archive when downloaded.
also its still adding the (1) to the name.

hi bro,

can you test everything again ? i've spent the past couple of hours trying to fix all the bugs.
FYI: the problem comes from the fact that we opened a new server for hosting files (s3.filetrip.net); but the upload script is still on the original server (filetrip.net). Web browsers don't upload files correctly when the upload script is on one server and the destination URL is on another.

I've apparently fixed this and tested under all browsers:
1) uploading 1 big file
2) uploading 1 small file
3) uploading multiple files including big and small ones

all are successful under all browsers.
mind giving it a try now?

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
