The once PlayStation exclusive Days Gone heads to PC

The president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, has lots to share about the future of PlayStation. In a freshly published interview with GQ, the man behind SIE confirmed that just as Horizon Zero Dawn did, another PlayStation exclusive title would be making its way to PC, among a “slate” of other games in the future. Days Gone will be headed to the PC platform “later this Spring”. PlayStation has found success with their first game being brought over to a new subset of players, and as Ryan says, “there’s a opportunity to expose these great games to a wider audience”.

Fair enough. So releasing PlayStation games on PC was something that Sony PlayStation held back on for a long time. Now it sounds like you’re very much on that bandwagon. What changed?

I think a few things changed. We find ourselves now in early 2021 with our development studios and the games that they make in better shape than they’ve ever been before. Particularly from the latter half of the PS4 cycle our studios made some wonderful, great games. There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognise the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward. The cost of making games goes up with each cycle, as the calibre of the IP has improved. Also, our ease of making it available to non-console owners has grown. So it’s a fairly straightforward decision for us to make.

What happened to "all other platforms than PlayStation are trash"?
It's not long ago they were using those very words as justification for disallowing crossplay on PS4. Nevermind that Fortnite was allowed to be crossplay...
Well, this guy who was blocking crossplay was fired from his position. :D

It's the correct link.

A whole slate of them is on the way starting with Days Gone this spring.

Maybe they realized that they'll never be able to manufacture enough PS5s, so they're using PC as a fallback.
inb4 it's terribly optimized and you need a high end enough pc to run it, where all the parts are also out of stock and impossible to get

The bigger news to me was that Gran Turismo 7 was delayed to 2022. Not that it's all that surprising.

"PC features include ultra-wide monitor support, unlocked framerates and improved graphics"

Good stuff, not locked to 60fps like some ports. Recommended specs are resonable as well

No reason to Buy Sony consoles they cant even manage to hold exclusives
Some of us don't like waiting 2+ years (if ever) to play games. Twitter trolls were bragging about FOV and not having to use a DualShock 4 in Horizon Zero Dawn, but I already got the Platinum 3 years ago. I'm glad you guys get to enjoy it now but it's old news.
