Right I have tried again today on my Wii, and if I select team brawl or just brawl with anyone in WiFi, it just continues to seek for other players. However I can spectate matches with no problems.

Anyone else have the same problem? Anyone with a PAL wii who can run WiFi matches with anyone without a problem?

Could this have anything to do with nintendo's servers?

Just to clarify, i have followed all the steps (albiet they took me a good 4hours)
PAL - D2CKEY - updated to the latest of the net

and then you guys do a full system update for PAL off the modified iso??
anyway to check i have modified the iso properly first?
As my understanding is if i have stuffed up my wii will be bricked, so i just want to double check before i take the plunge.

cheers

If you have replaced the __update.inf with ProphSSBB.inf you will be fine, no dual channels and you won´t brick you wii

My report :

1 - Extracted the "__uppate.inf" from the first partition
2 - Replaced it in Trucha Signer with the "ProphSSBB.inf" renamed as "__update.inf"
3 - Extracted "main.dol" from the second partition
4 - Launched "WII Video Changer" and selected the Smart Mode, NTSC -> PAL
5 - Replaced the "main.dol" on the iso in Trucha Signer
6 - Trucha Signed both partitions
7 - Launched RegionFrii, loaded ISO and modified it to PAL one
8 - Launched IMGBurn, specified Layer Break to 2084960
9 - Burnt on "Auto" Speed on a Verbatim DVD+DL, speed reaching 4x. Burnt in around 20 minutes
10 - Put the disc in my Wii.
11 - As I got the update from the JAP version and used the "ProphSSBB.inf" on this one, no ask for update.
12 - Runs smooth on 60Hz 480p, no laggy or suttering videos, intro and cutscenes plays fine. No lag ingame.

PERFECT ! \o/

Specs : PAL 3.2E Wii, YAOSM 3.0

Sounds good, maybe i should update the first post, where do you get Wii Video Changer?

EDIT: Can you play the game in other modes? 480i and 576i?
EDIT2: What version of Wii Video Changer did you use?

I can vouch for this. Follow those instructions and use extremely good media and you can't lose.

It works with both 480i and 480p. 576i still seems to be flaky, so just stick to 480i if possible.

I have the same problem, not sure what causes it yet.

Well, thats was possibly the scariest 20seconds of my life, even with all the assurances!
thanks heaps for the guide, am about to start brawling

thought i would add some help from what i ran into.
had trouble with it freezing on the white screen b4 intro. to fix this had to add the layer break (also did the video thing above at same time, so not sure which fixed it)
anywho, just thought i would add to the knowledge, now that mine is finally working gotta get me in some play time before work tomorrow.

Why do i get error #001 with my DL SSBB?

My Wiikey is legit and 1.9g firmware runs SMG perfectly fine!

I don't get it

Wii Video Mode Changer 2.2

http://rapidshare.com/files/98050614/wii-vmc_2.2.zip

I have tried neither 480i nor 576i, I always put my TV on 480p for maximum pleasure ;P

Can you try 480i and 576i so we can update the first post with correct info?

Ouch. Why not, but being at work right now kinda handicaps me ;P

Will try in 7 hours, and report back. Or someone else ? ^^

EDIT = Phoned to my wife to make her try and can confirm it runs perfectly in 480i and 576i. What would I not do for this great community ?

why not use Generic Wii Patcher -> http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=77938

Generic Wii Patcher is an all in 1 program compilation of
- Error 001 Fix
- Wii Video Mode Changer
- Wii Game Language Patcher
- Country code (RegionFrii)

- Remove "Error 001"
- Set Video Mode (NTSC to PAL)
- Set region to PAL

Will try this this method, except that I just run generic patcher to remove 001 check for safety, else I followed iroi-kyo-k method, seemed to best one, I have to buy some DL today though.

Fighten to much to make it a DVD5 so I want to just Brawl a little to loose some steam

Ok, it seems that there is some new faster methods to do all the steps, i will update the first post later to make it as simple as possible.
There is one thing I need to get straight, if I set the region to PAL in Generic Wii Patcher it makes the game too boot on a PAL Wii without having to use RegionFrii? Right? (Some ModChips don´t have the region override enabled)

Just curious but does any of this matter if I don't care about getting dul channels as I already got them from corruption

maybe you still have to do some of this steps, you can still get the 001 error.
But if you don´t have any problems with SMG you should be fine.
Maybe you have to set the Layer Break in ImgBurn if you have D2CKEY like me (or maybe som other modchips)

SUCCESS!

I've fixed all the problems with my PAL console.

After the Imation discs I tried wouldn't read at all and the Verbatim discs sometimes wouldn't load (with a "Unable to read disc error"), I took the Wii apart and gave the laser a very gentle clean with a cotton bud. That seemed to make the success rate slightly better on the Verbatim discs.

Still not perfect, I found the laser power pot, gave it a slight (probably 1/8th to 1/16th) turn counter-clockwise. Now it reads the Verbatim discs 100% of the time. I wondered if it helped with the Imation discs as well, threw one in, and bam! it read the Imations first go now as well!

Well worth the half an hour's effort for anyone else having DRE's or "Unable to read disc" errors.
