what d2ckey problem? there should be no problem?

Hi Redsquirerel ..ok downloaded the SSBB iso and it extracted fine left me with a ISO called DX to burn so i burnt it 4x burnt it on 3 different medias now and still nothing all i get is either a black screen witha message on telling me to eject the disk and reboot the wii error or a message saying disc is unreconisable .

With a d2ckey can you use the 1.3 config disc and change any of the settings as ive heard d2ckey is made by the wiikey team and uses similar options on both chips?

Any help be most apreciated mate.

Daz.

Yeah m8 thats me on newzbin also...do you think it may be a bad image as ive burnt other wii iso,s on the same media i tried SSBB and they went fine.

Media i have tried..Tevion,Traxdata and R I Vision all DVD-R

A few friends and I were playing online last night. It was pretty good, but the timing is a bit different, because there is a slight delay in all your moves

1.3 shouldnt work as thats for wiikey only. D2Ckey is multiregion so it doesnt need that.

You downloaded the same iso as me (DX.iso) and I burned to verbatim dvd at 6x and works fine (i did the swap trick).

Have other japan/usa games worked on your wii before all this? I wouldnt really say the media you have used are that good, but if they worked for other games im not sure why they wouldnt with brawl..

Did you burn it the same way as your other iso's? Same program, same media, same speed etc?

Hello,

I got a pal wii with 3.1E and did the full update on the SSBB disk. But When I try to start the game it loads for a minute then alot of japanese text with green background comes up and the only english word in the mess I can see is OFF. I have changed my screen to 50hz in option.

Is burning speed an important issue? Because I burned in x16 but that has never been a problem before... please help.

Nevermind working now... But I seem to have the shaking problem everytime I try to start.. anyone know how to get rid of it?

I have just found something out: If you would like to earn different difficulties for the Break the Targets mode. Go into classic mode, and make it all the way to the Break the Targets and just play it through, and depending on which Ver. you beat you should get that version and any other version lower than that one. This does work on the DVD5 version, contrary to what I said before.
So if you would like, Rammoth go ahead and revise what I said earlier

Tomorrow I'm gonna write up what you have to do in some events. But I can't figure out what the hell to do on Event 11, I just fail randomly when I kill a Yoshi, and sometimes I don't fail when I kill a Yoshi.

So is there a menu translation somewhere? If someone posted it somewhere please link it) I got lost in the menu but managed to fight kirby but when mario whipped out his water machine it crashed with a loud noise. (was using brickblocked version)

Yeah that confused me at first too... what you have to do is kill them in color order.

As I remember the order was:
Red
Pink
Yellow
Green
Light Blue
Dark Blue

I just got DSBX working and it's awesome. I had to update my WiiKey to 1.9g, and then use the GCOS version of the Config 1.3 disc to turn on Region Override.

Then, I burned two copies of the game, one that was brick blocked and a regular one. I used the regular disc to install the update. I used the 15% trick and it worked fine. No dual channels and my Wii settings still work. After that I switched discs to the brick blocked version. I played the game and everything works (that's supposed to work on the single layer version, not things like SSE).

So far I've only played a couple matches, and I went through Classic with Ike without any crashes. Once I got to the credits I shot a few of the targets (to get some coins for the coin launcher

) and then I used the Home button to go back to the menu. When I started up the game I got the trophy messages and got to keep the coins. I didn't find this trick but I thought I'd post it in case anyone else missed it.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
