Gaming Skyward Sword HD firmware requirements?

Hey all,

Anyone know which firmware will be needed to play Skyward Sword HD?
Asking about Switch firmware AND custom firmware (it's been a while since I updated, but seem to remember I had to update both last time, in order to play on latest CFW).
Would prefer not to have to go through the process of upgrading again if it's not necessary for this game. Am currently running 10.2.0|AMS 0.15.0|S

Nope, info on that would be available once someone get a dump of the game, for now it is still early, there might be a dump few days before release if someone managed to get a hard copy before street date.

A recent game like Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and LEGO Builder’s Journey uses firmware 12.0.2, so I would bet that Skyward Sword HD would also use 12.0.2 or 12.0.3.

Not necessarily. It happened countless times that a released game had a lower FW as the required one. This even happened to Nintendo games.
The reason is, that a game has to be ready many days prior release because physical units have to be shipped worldwide.
However, as a "day one patch" is the usual route nowadays, that update might require an up to date FW since it can be literally checked into the eShop just when the Nintendo dev has finished compiling it and he most likely always does this with the latest SDK so the new master key would be required to launch it.

i migrated to 12, seems the base game might be lower but any updates will need 12 or higher with some newer titles like Mario Golf and THPS 1+2

That info is from CAF African's dump, the firmware requirement is referred to as the lowest people have gotten the game to run. Lowest firmware are based on SDK used during development.

the highest sdk I've seen for a game was 11.something. I've never seen a 12+ one. though, I'm sure they'll come to be eventually. a lot of these games are in development for over a year, so they're probably using whatever the latest was at that time.

Monster Hunter Stories 2 lowest firmware is 9.0.0, atleast that African guy got it pretty close, 12.0.2 is way off.

So that file was perhaps patched for a lower firmware? Even nswdb.com mentions that firmware 12.0.1 is needed. I could not get it running on 11.0.1, but I could on 12.0.3.
