oh and I'm still looking into the Metallica/WT charts. I'm able to parse the charts, but I can't so anything with them except open them in FeedBack (the RB/GH chart editor) right now.

speaking of parsing wt/ghm charts, my wt parser .41 does that, and my newest one 1.0 actually injects .chart files, but we still dont have audio going right?

Actually the audio for GHWT/M is quite simple to extract since there is no encryption used. It is easy to extract each track, but recombining them to make it compatible for Rock Band is another thing.

I have suggested that the RawkSD be capable of converting WT/M biks into Rock Band's format.

Just take the WAV files that Bink spits out and throw them in Audacity, yeah.

Let me get this straight, Rock Band 2 for Wii can accept .ogg song files?

I thought it had to be in bik format.

Mm, not quite sure on ogg, but Moggs work, yes. The game has code for Mogg, bik and wav apparently (this was found in the game code)

WAIT WHAT?!! If I remember correctly, the parser was originally for Wii before PS2. So, I'm going to assume that you can inject charts into the Wii version of GH:M. AND- apparently it is very simple to add audio to GHM, simply by converting the file to .bik and replacing it with Trucha.

So if audio works AND charts can now be injected, then shouldn't customs be available?!

I'd say they should be now.

EDIT: And about the parser. The PS2 and Wii versions are the same thing. The Wii version is the PS2 version ported to run on the Wii, no restructuring, so I wouldn't be surprised it works on both.

One of the remaining problems is that the .mid file for RB2 must have additional data to control the video. Not sure how this would be handled when converting between GH .mid -> RB .mid.
The wii version of RB2 seems pretty flexible when it comes to the .moggs it will accept - even though they're normally only 28000Hz with up to 9 tracks it seems possible to use more tracks and higher (CD quality) sampling rates.

How much space we talking needed on the SD Card, for say all RB1 songs. I think i remember Harmonix anouncing that 60-70 DLC songs can fit onto a 2gb Card, is RawkSD looking around the same?

can you install a new ticket/title only for the customs? How should it be named?

or, just got an idea: If I create a new ticket/title and just add proper entries to the savegame (dlc/myticketname/xxx instead of dlc/sZAE/xxx/) will it work?

can I create sZCE and will it work?

Two questions:

Won't Harmonix/Nintendo know that we are playing custom/imported songs since the game is submitting scores all the time? When you all release this would you suggest that we disable our wifi or do you think it won't matter?

What happens when you try to play a song with no animation data?

B) What happens when you try to play a song with no animation data?
A) Dunno, I don't think it will go anywhere since we are using a separate title ID
B) It freezes.

Post your RB2 Friend Codes if you plan to use RB1/Customs online here.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
