Actually, it's funny. In 2004, I started taking Japanese classes because of how much I hated the Sonic X English dub.

It was a work ethic that worked, because this year (my senior year in High School) I'm currently in AP Japanese II, so obviously, it got me somewhere. Don't let small things like that discourage you, motivation is motivation.

As for the patch everyone, it will be up in approximately 10 minutes or less. I did not get to finish translating all the new items, but I got a few in here and there, the only reason I had to rush is because I'm going out tonight. I'm sorry everyone, but I hope you enjoy it anyway!

Make sure to give a big thanks to Rykin, as he did the graphic edits.

If you read the first post, you would know he is not translating the story, there is no point for it since it will be in the US in about 6 months. And it will most likely by a Windows Executeable file (.exe) like most patches are.

Rotfl, I started learning Japanese so I could read Manga before anyone else.
That was before I knew of scanslations.

Bummer. I kinda wanted a standalone .xdelta patch :/


If you don't mind, guy-translating-the-game, would you mind including said file in the patcher's .zipfile?

umm, just a quick question, but i was just on the kazo's hgss translation thread and there were a lot of comments from ppl sayin its very hard to patch to the rom...

so my question is...

how easy will or can you make the patch application process?

Sorry about this folks, but we ran into a few technical difficulties.

First: The patch for some reason only worked with SoulSilver.

Second: Rykin's graphic edits caused the Pokedex to crash for whatever reason.

Give us a little bit more time.

It turns out the patches do not work for HeartGold at the moment. For those who are playing HG, please remain patient while we sort out the problem.

I dont have any success. I can open the CMD thing but I put the file in no joy. Do i need to rename anything? Why does the readme say Pokemon PLatinum?

The HeartGold patch has been fixed.

The patching readme says "Platinum" because... I guess Rykin forgot to modify it xDD, oh well.

Yeah, I believe it is antifreeze-patched.

I'm really turned off by the cred on the title screen, though :/ I know it's petty but it really takes away from the greatness of the translation because SOMEBODY had to squeeze some credit in. That's what the huge blank spaces in the game credits are for - for sticking all the cred AND special thanks in!

Whatever - the patch itself is pretty damn good though; looks like a lot of time went into the making of this patch. I really couldn't find any of this mentioned "graphic hacking" - I thought it was going to be actually beneficial to gameplay. >:
