Status: BETA
Because not whole game was tested.

Tools used:
- Hades Workshop: Extracting and importing textures
- Imagemagick: sorting tiles and editing/converting textures
- dd: cutting headers from textures
- UnityEx: Unpacking from Unity archives textures prepared by Hades Workshop
- UBPU: Compressing UnityFS archives
- PowerShell: Renaming 800,000 tiles in 15 minutes ;)

It's not a full experience bringed by original Moguri Mod.

Why?
- High resolution backgrounds were downscaled 4x to match Switch textures
- There is no support for Memoria enhancements like shaders.
- Author of original mod was not involved in making this port (so don't send him messages that something is not working from this topic).

Here you will find only field background textures.
They are taking whole 9 bin files, so if more mods will come to FF IX for Switch, they will be compatible with this mod if they will not touch field backgrounds (s1data11.bin - s1data19.bin).
It's compatible with all CFWs.

Issues:
Layers are not ideally aligned. PC shows them with thinner grey lines around layers (and should not at all). I don't know what is causing this issue.
On Switch small screen they are barely visible.

Thank you so much for this mod! Looks amazing on the switches little screen despite the resolution downscale!
Is there any way yet of making the game run in fullscreen instead of the crappy 4:20 resolution?

Real 16:9 - not possible
Stretched 16:9 - without external plugin looks not possible

It's SXOS\titles\01007EF00B094000\romfs\Data\StreamingAssets
My Skyrim mods still work flawless when I put it on SXOS\titles\....
And I already checked my FF9 version title key, it's the same as ur mod.
Edit: After restart my switch, it worked, thank you so much :D

This is a very cool mod but there are is noticeable compression artefacts and black pixelated lines around objects, don't know if this is part of the up-scaling process but could it be improved?

Either way still glad you made this as they're much better than the original backgrounds

They are not compression artifacts. They are ESRGAN artifacts. You can see them even in original mod with disabled ReShade.
Lines are because of downscaling. I used bicubic scaler, but it looks like it's not perfect. Maybe bilinear will be better...

Yes I see what you mean after looking at the original. Just out of interest would it be possible to use the same method on the upscaled backgrounds for FFVII?

It's called remako mod and modders can't use anything as backgrounds because editing them on Switch version make them broken. I don't know the details

And about the same method - no. FF VII is different than IX. VII uses prioprietary format for Textures, when IX uses UnityFS archives for textures.
