I have. I just find it silly to compare characters the way you do as likes and dislikes are completely subjective. Sony has plenty of memorable characters, for example the Patapons, Ratchet and Clank or Kratos just to name a few.
Ah, so you've read the first few words and not the whole thing. Sony has "memorable" characters, of course, but none are on par with a single Nintendo classic character. Hell, Sony itself doesn't even have a memorable mascot to the average gamer. Everyone, from every age group who has played any genre knows who Mario, Link, Samus (Metroid), Zelda etc etc are. Sony does not have a single character who encompasses that -- at all. I don't even know how my post was originally viewed to you as an opinion when it was clearly a defined statement and pretty bloody obvious.
And how does that magically change my perception of what you wrote? You're saying that their characters are not as memorable as Nintendo ones, but again, that's your opinion. I thought it's pretty bloody obvious.

Hey everyone knows Mario, if i name a few Sony characters to an average gamer/person, they would be like what? Lol
Unless you have statistics or evidence to back that up, quiet your ass down :P

The fact stands, yes. Characters from exclusive titles released on Sony's platform are not as well known as characters from exclusive titles on Nintendo's platform.

That's considering if you pit say Mario against Sackboy. Then again, the first Mario game was released about 2 decades or more ago. (don't quote me on this) The first LBP game came out less than 5 years ago. When you consider this, your comparison is no longer fair if one character had a longer duration of publicity than the other. For instance, my dad recognises Mario, because he played Mario games growing up. He longer games, so he wouldn't recognise the more recent characters like Sackboy, Sev or Nathan Drake.

Hell, Sony itself doesn't even have a memorable mascot to the average gamer. Everyone, from every age group who has played any genre knows who Mario, Link, Samus (Metroid), Zelda etc etc are. It's true, and it's quite unfortunate. Nintendo has Mario as it's primary mascot. Sega had Sonic, but Sony doesn't really and truly have a mascot to call their own to milk. Sure, a couple of times Sackboy or Nathan Drake had the spotlight, but not for long.

I could be wrong though.

I don't even know how my post was originally viewed to you as an opinion when it was clearly a defined statement and pretty bloody obvious.
Actually, what's obvious is that this game is intended to be released on a Sony platform, thus targeting Sony gamers who are familiar with Sony characters. So who cares if the rest of the planet don't know the characters? Who cares if the characters aren't as well known as those from Nintendo?

Seriously, why do you guys even give a rats ass?

As long as the game is good and I enjoy it, as a PS3 owner, I don't see why I shouldn't buy it

Do you doubt the popularity of Mario? Even everyday parents know who Mario is, they are ones freaking buying the games for their kids. ;)

Oh, makes sense you are not from the USA/UK, Mario is well known around here.

Thanks for saying the obvious, more so proving my point that Nintendo characters are more recognised my vast amount of people.

What does your point have to do with the topic at hand anyway? Sony can't make a good game because they don't mass market their characters? Half of SSB is full of obscure characters.

I never said the game wouldn't be good. Jumping to conclusions, much? They don't have as many mass market characters as Nintendo does to reach a wide audience and that's my personal stance.

Holy fuck. It's like im dealing with children who clearly don't get the point. Sony has great games with great characters and these games are exclusives. The memory of these characters is a bare minimum because they only stick around for a month and then eventually come back for a sequel -- maybe. Also, prowler, please stop acting like you've just come out of middle school. it's incredibly uncomfortable seeing your posts directed at me since I feel like you'v snuck on the computer after being spoon fed.

I like how you originally put "hatERS to the lEFT" but then decided to go back and make a conscious effort to make yourself look more hilarious and funny.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in

    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
