I'm just wondering what characters would appear. Do Sony have enough exclusive characters for a fighting game?

And about copying SSB.. Does it really matter. Even if they make an exact clone would it effect SSB in any way... Some people ¬_¬

Any of these are game.

Not counting former exclusives (Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon) or Playstation-leaning (Metal Gear Solid) franchises which could very well make an appearance.

Wow, a lot more than I expected. Guess there could be quite a large roster then.

Hardly the same though is it? 90% are C grade characters. Even the A grade are mostly rip off of other characters existing in videos games, comics or movies. Narrow that list down to what they can viably use and there is a lot less. Shit most of those are not even created by the studios when Sony owned them.

"Hey look guys we erm are putting the MediEvil guy in" *tumbleweeds appear*

Don't get me wrong they have some good properties but most go downhill massively after ten years or so. Still its more than what Microsoft has.

Slightly off topic, but I didn't know Dark Cloud was a Sony exclusive game. That's one of my all time favorite games for the PS2!
I would honestly buy this game if there are any characters from that game in it.

It sounds like they are trying to make a SSB game to me
because nintendo was the first to make these types of games

be quiet
Bugger off prowler, Nintendo didn't invent the video game, the analog stick, the rumble motor, the touch screen, motion controls, or autostereoscopic 3D.

But if they hadn't been the first to go out on a limb and make them popular, it's possible, or perhaps probable that no one would be using them for gaming today.

wow way to get over defensive, i was speaking about the game not nintendo as a whole

and we've already established nintendo did not make 'mash up' fighting games popular.

I mean this isn't counting any Sony exclusives that aren't published/made by Sony either. Although I can't name one off the top of my head.

You'd have Sweet Tooth and Kratos (pretty much confirmed here), Sackboy, Nathan Drake, "the MediEvil guy", Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, PaRappa the Rapper, that chick from Heavenly Sword, some Patapons, Spike from Ape Escape, Ico from, well, Ico, and that's only including currently SCE owned stuff.

There could of course be other "iconic" Playstation characters. The whole FFVII cast would probably be game (it was one of the defining PSX games), Metal Gear Solid characters, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot (while eventually going to less-than-greener pastures they were still popular on the PSX), etc.

I mean they've definitely got some strong properties to pick from.
