Just a doubt, how is the option Download/Install to NAND ?
Install to NAND is possible already. Download to NAND is planned but low priority.

I would like to suggest an option to automatically try to continue the download again. I left downloading a game while I was away from home, but when it was on a red screen with a connection error, I pressed A and the download continues where it left off before giving the error but I ended up wasting a lot of time with it
Added it to my todo list. :)

Internal error installing "/vol/app_sd/install/Super Mario™ 3D World [0005000010145c00]/"
Your Homebrew Launcher Channel is probably outdated!

I checked multiple times, it is not outdated.

I put this on Install folder and installed this without any problems using the WUP Installer GX2 on Hacxi with Mocha CFW enabled.

But when I tried to open it on the Wii U menu it crashed on a black screen, you know how to fix it?

[EDIT]

Now even Hacxi is giving me a black screen. lol

[EDIT2]

My mistake, it's just a long black screen, but after about 20 seconds he joined the Homebrew Launcher, I really don't know why it took so long

[EDIT3]

Thank you very much, now everything is working perfectly here.

I fixed the '' Homebrew Launcher Channel is probably outdated! '' By doing this here (it's on page 9 of the post), I strongly recommend you to always take a look at the post to see if anyone faced any similar problems.

Eu consertei o ''Homebrew Launcher Channel is probably outdated!'' fazendo isso aqui ( está na pagina 9 do post ), eu recomendo fortemente vocês sempre darem uma olhada no post para ver se alguém enfrentou algum problema semelhante.

ah so it's like FreeShop was...

...don't expect this to work forever people
As Nintendo no longer cares for the Wii U and hasn't released an update for it in years, I wouldn't worry about that, unlike the 3DS, the Wii U isn't even manufactured or mentioned on Nintendo's official website. I believe that as long as his eShop is up and running the app will work.

Probably a really freaking stupid question but, can this download stuff in the background? Like, while I'm playing games?

I was downloading Bayonetta 2 since yesterday morning (Downloading on USB and installing on NAND) but after a while it just crashed on this screen here:

Now I have no option if I don't turn off the console because no buttons respond.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening again ?, as Bayonetta 2 is a relatively heavy game it would be horrible to go through it again, It would be interesting if it were possible to add an option that could resume the download from where it left off in the event of a crash like that.

How do you download games on USB? Does it need to be on Fat32 or am I able to download them with my Wii U formated device?

wii u formatted, pretty much the same way eshop would do.
I just tried to download Paper Mario Color Splash and it crashed on me when I started it, is there a reason for that? Games downloaded to the SD Card worked fine, it just makes that awful sound that every Wii/Wii U does when it crashes

It should resume the download when you try to download it again.

it crashed on me when I started it
What exactly crashed, NUSspli when starting the download or the game when launched? Also make sure the external HDD gets enough power.

NUSspli crashed when starting the Download of the American release, Game & Wario and some other games installed just fine and the European Paper Mario Color Splash started downloading but it crashes on the 13th file every time. Is there a delete option to delete the game from USB:/install/? I would like to erase my halfway download that crashes halfway through and start over but I can't access the HDD and delete it myself due to the Wii U partitions on a USB Drive being weird

@Chuardo Thanks for this, will try to recreate it soon.
There's currently no way to delete the files from within NUSspli but you could use FTPiiU Everywhere for that. Just keep in mind that there are two versions: If one can't access the USB drive try the other.

//EDIT: Crash confirmed, thanks a lot. Will look more into it later.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.
