Dolphine GC manager requires RAW files of memory card, it takes up more storage on the SD card and must use a WII HOMEBREW to imprt the files, your statement is quite contradictory, while i do belive dolphin has a cleaner look, it is alot less efficient for what s/he has to do
you do know nintendont mcemu uses raw files right? so if he is using mcemu he already has raw files on his sd/usb wich most people do use mcemu in nintendont.

Where is the proven fact of your Statistic "most people do use mcemu in nintendont." As general knowledge tells me legit owners of any gamecube game would have a memory card.
if most people (like yourself) use MCEMU they most likely pirate games as, inorder to play gc games legitimately a MC is required, deny this all you want, but your almost definitely either a pirate, cheap, or careless.

also he didnt state that he used MCEMU. Dolphin is a computer program that can take a while to download even with decent internet speeds. also a normal extractor can extract and import cgi and raw files. nintendont doesnt support .cgi.
Also the whole method i explained can all be done on a Wii, even downloading .cgi files can be done from the wii if you really wanted too.

Not even close to the same issue; that has a valid header, but the region code is 'S'. I'll add an exception to handle RELSAB as NTSC-J. (I think the only other known game with RELSAB is the Metroid Prime 3 prototype, which won't run on a retail GCN or Nintendont due to lack of memory.)

Also the bios gives the invalid disc message if the maker code isn't valid.

Hi,
I'm sorry I didn't read all the 1677 pages (at least I read the 1st one).
I want to be sure that I am understanding things fine : Original GC discs can only be read on Wii, not on vWii, right ??

Thanks in advance for your help :)

What? Devolution REQUIRES the original disc and emulates memory cards. DM launches original discs and also supports emulated cards. Nintendont isn't any different.
There are more pressed game discs out in the wild than there are memory cards.
Dolphin 5.0 is 18.4MB. That wouldn't even take long to download with a 56K modem.

I don't like piracy either but get off your high horse.

Also region mode is set at 0x458, separate from the disc ID (4th letter), it's
part of the Disk header information ("bi2.bin") 0x440-0x4243F

00-00-00-00 = Japan
00-00-00-01 = USA
00-00-00-02 = Europe
00-00-00-04 = Korea

I guess there is also a matching Korean IPL bios to match.

Or maybe, just maybe, they want a more reliable save device that doesn't randomly corrupt itself for no reason and is easily backed up?
Also region mode is set at 0x458, separate from the disc ID (4th letter), it's

I guess there is also a matching Korean IPL bios to match.
I'll take a look at adding this in. Currently Nintendont only reads the disc ID from the first 256 bytes of the disc when determining region, but it shouldn't be too hard to read bi2.bin as well.

EDIT: Is there any other documentation on bi2.bin? All I can find is "bi2.bin is a file on the GameCube disc", no actual documentation on what it contains.

Yeah if you could autopatch the region mode to match it's disc id that'd be nice as well as the magicword, that way it should always select the correct bios and not reject the disc/image.
http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/ISO_Creation_Wizard
I noticed it when using above tool, it always missed them out so I had to hexedit them in afterwards.
I was thinking more "using bi2.bin to determine the region instead of the disc ID", since the bi2.bin region is the one that's actually used (if I understand this correctly).

I'll do some tests this weekend with the IPL to see how both region codes are handled.

Correct, it also sets the video mode irc but you can't boot wrong regioned discs even though it swaps the video mode.

Ever since the upadtes that stopped using kinobiwii.bin for cheat handling none of the codes have worked. after i updated for the first time they didnt work, but luckyily i had an old usb with a kinobiwii.bin compatible version on it. however i recently lost these files and the cheats functionality on the new updates dont work, some games hangup on a black screen after the nintndo and sound provider logo and others just dont load the (previously working) cheats at all. can somebody help me

He Wouldnt NEED Homebrew to do this... Obviously.

you need homebrew to inject a gci file onto a real gc memory card unless there is some random game exploit that injects gci files from usb to gc memory cards that im unaware off becuase legaly there is no way.

Also like people said dolphin is 18mb how is that too big?

You know i was going to help you but since you were so rude saying anyone that uses mcemu is basicaly a pirate, cheap or careless im gonna let you learn how to get the previous version dols from github for yourself.

Serious insulting people becuase they use emulated memory cards is beyond ridiculous.

you can legit make your own extractor and injector or buy one and extract and inject straight to the MC from a comp.

Thx for reminding me about the github btw.

im aware of how to get old .dol files but i am trying to have compatibility on the latest version

Thx for reminding me about the github btw.
why would anyone go trough the trouble of spending money to make an gc extractor/injector when they can put a gci file on an sd card or even usb and use wii homebrew and inject it in 5 seconds how is that even an advice? and how does using homemade stuff any diferent from using wii homebrew to do the job?

Its like me saying you can use all cheats you just make your own gc game player for the wii and add perfect cheat compatibility...

You know i was going to help you but since you were so rude saying anyone that uses mcemu is basicaly a pirate, cheap or careless im gonna let you learn how to get the previous version dols from github for yourself.

Serious insulting people becuase they use emulated memory cards is beyond ridiculous.
A quick post check shows that Protatoxxxeater uses CIAngel to download/install 3DS games. Sure sounds like hypocrisy to me.

No, owning the cartridge doesn't grant you the right to download the eShop version for free, regardless of how much you try to justify it.
