A new Pokemon go update was released on the Google Play store and iOS App store. This new update includes:
  • A notification that you have to tell the game that you are not driving to avoid accidents
  • Being able to change your name ONCE
  • Sightings which hasn't been rolled out to everyone yet. Sightings tells you what Pokemon are within your location similar to the nearby list before the update but now if the Pokemon are on the nearby list it shows the exact pokestop it is located at with pokemon foot steps floating above the pokestop.
  • Bug Fixes
The most notable change is Sightings which has replaced the Nearby function which we still don't know anything about. If you get any ideas on what it does feel free to let us know.

Hope they release a real update soon, not only fixes. The game got boring pretty quick.

I also noticed that they limited the number of times you can give a berry to the pokemon to make it easier to catch. And they said that the curve ball thing is fixed, even though it still doesn't recognize it all the time

There's a limit to berry usage? I really only use like 3-4 at most so I guess it won't be hurting me that much.

Anyway, I agree that they should start adding a bit of content soon. Still wondering where that trade feature is even though they said it was top priority.

  • Sightings which hasn't been rolled out to everyone yet. Sightings tells you what Pokemon are within 700km of your location similar to the nearby list before the update but now if the Pokemon are on the nearby list it shows the exact pokestop it is located at with pokemon foot steps floating above the pokestop.
I sure hope you mean 700m because 700 km is basically an entire timezone.

    I can agree to that.

Which is funny, because kids in elementary school fight and argue a lot. You'd think people would learn from that.

Well 80/90 babies weren't born with a screen in their face and everyone having a camera on their phone to expose people easier
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
In a way we were, with TV, movies and video games. But we often times weren't allowed to consume it 24/7.

Parents would always tell us to go outside and get some exercise.

Yeah but compared to smartphones everything is recorded way quicker
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
Nowadays, there are a lot of parents who can't even be bothered to do that much for their kids.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Not saying it's bad that kids have smartphones but it's harder to get away with things stupid kids do to each other over them
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Imagine in early 90s giving a swirly while dumb kids record it getting themselves in trouble
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
Frankly, I'd allow them to have their smartphone when they're away from home, or when my wife and I aren't around.
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
But no other time, until they're in high school.

Wouldn't be any tablets in the house, either.

I'm not a parent but even an idiot like me knows how sneaky the little shits are
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
    Yep.
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
Hence why I would be checking their phone the moment they got home.
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
I'd be invasive until they turned 16.
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
Or rather, until they're in Junior year.
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
At that point, they can do what they want on their phone.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I'd still check until they turn 18 play store is a fest of shit
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
    Play Store ads-- yuck.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Freaking hard to tell a 16 year old from a 21 year old these days that's why I don't even bother talking to people I don't know
  • Delerious @ Delerious:
    Oh, talking about social apps?
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
In general but social apps I normally just have people I know
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Don't need no 5k people I don't even know on them
