Everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood spider-man is back with a new teaser trailer, continuing the trend of trailers from Paris Games Week 2017. I never played any spiderman game, but this one looks very well done, with a movie-like vibe.
it seems different from previous games. I might be interested this time.
Insomniac is making it, so I have really high hopes for it. The closest I've played to a spider Man game was that Lego marvel game, but I don't think that really should count. :P
I've always heard that spider Man games are mediocre and I've steered clear of them.

textures and colors look nice but the character models look like 2013 shite, they shoulda made it more cartoonish like all other insomniac games and left out the Andrew Garfunkel c,c,c,character... Shoulda based it on the spectacular spiderman from '94 much like how the arkham series was from the '92 Batman Animated Series

I have really really liked what they have shown of this game. The E3 video the trailers are showing off this game in a way that is getting me really hype for it. Looks like I will need to borrow my buddies PS4 once this drops.

The last Spiderman game I really enjoyed was Spiderman 2 on PS2. It has a pretty big open world with tons of side missions to mess around with if you wanted a break from the story. I've played a few since then that are too linear for my taste.

Latest Switch 2 leak says it will have a LCD, not OLED, run most games 40fps max, and only be 1.5 tflops handheld, 3 tflops docked. That's less than the steamdeck at 1.71 handheld, 3.1 docked.

  • console @ console:
Switch 2 LCD is about like TN type compare to old Nintendo Switch LCD before. Also games running on 40 FPS look not good for us and people. 60 FPS are best for normal everyday gaming. That's weird. I think should not buy Switch 2 because it like Switch 1.5 something like that. Little improve but not major improve. I think going to skip it.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea that's just rumored but not sounding that impressive for a next gen upgrade. Of course Nintendo is very good at optimization of their games to play well, but for a $400+ 2025 console I expected a little better. Even a $299 2020 Xbox Series S has 4 tflops.

  • Anrei @ Anrei:
I thought it was supposed to be on par with an xbox 1 in power, why is it running most things at 40fps lol
  • Anrei @ Anrei:
in terms of power I thought it was a 2.0 compared to the switch man 40fps sounds whack is there poor optimisation or something?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Just rumors/ leaks. We will find out in a few weeks. But yea prob way underpowered to save battery, for longer playtimes, like Switch 1 is.

Teraflops are not necessarily indicative of real world performance, especially when compared across different architectures. The Switch 2 will also be smaller/lighter than the Steam Deck so it's performance has to fit inside a much smaller thermal and power envelope. Using a 120hz VRR panel means 40 fps locks can be an option in handheld mode, which will be a noticeable upgrade over the current 30 fps standard on Switch 1. Games could also go uncapped and leverage VRR to keep things smooth.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Call me a filthy casual but I really don't notice the difference between the last few generations of consoles, and pushing specs just for the sake of bragging rights is really pointless.
