I don't think sadly there is any app for that. Most likely it takes to much toll on the poor 3DS to render the videos now days with the compression.

I recall using the official app. It wasn't good.

Better just to use the 3DS for gaming.
I remember using the official app, the output quality was very low as opposed through the New 3DS browser. At least it got useful for hacking your 3DS.

Is there an alternative way to watch netflix on the 3ds in 2022/23?
At 400x240? Don't you have a smartphone?

On the new 3DS, the answer is probably yes. Using such a program as PlayOn (I haven't used this in years but looks like it's still around) you can watch streaming services on any DLNA client but also any web browser capable of HTML5 video as it gets around the DRM. I think such a thing should also work on the new 3DS' web browser. It's a subscription based program, though. https://www.playon.tv/
Old 3DS is not capable of playing HTML5 video IIRC, so a special homebrew would need to be written.

You are better off pirating the stuff you want to watch and watching it that way on the 3DS. Otherwise, I don't think there's any way to access Netflix from the 3DS. I also don't think anyone would make a player given the accessibility of everything else with a screen that can view Netflix.

Aside from doing it for science or curiosity, it's just not worth. Any +5 years low end phone will do that stuff way better, i was using a J2 Core myself until recently just fine and that phone is ancient heh

A possible workaround could involve the ability to stream the video to the 3DS from another device on the network. The 3DS has DLNA isn't it?

No. Use other stuff available for the 3ds like ThirdTube or the browser, or just use the mobiclip video encoder to convert a video file to .moflex so you can play it on the 3d movie viewer or just by making an application with the moflex. Sorry for being late here, I am new.
