Hacking Modded PS3 help (habib 4.65)

Hi, i have a modded PS3 from a couple of years ago with habib 4.65 v1.02 spoofed to 4.66.

I didn't have the ability to downgrade the system so I got someone to do it... it's still working fine but I cant run newer games.

I'd like to upgrade to the latest and greatest, but I need a push in the right direction.

The other thing I'd like to do is clean up the hard drive (actually I should upgrade it!). I have no idea what files are needed and what can be purged... I'd definitely benefit from starting over but I don't want to screw anything up... is there a safe way to do that?

I believe you can just upgrade to the latest Rebug CFW with no problems. Also, just get a new hard drive, 1/2TB drives are very cheap these days.
