Just update via nintendo to 4.2 if you don't have a region changed wii. Then follow the modify any wii guide sticky.

Yeah just follow the guide to update to 4.2. Also use WiiSCU 0.23 to update only the Shop Channel. By the way, it's 500 points specifically for an NES game. Unfortunately you can use it for anything else.
