I'll start off by saying, yes I used the search bar, but it's almost impossible to see what topic means what since they all have such vague names. Ok, so I reeeeaaaaaallly want to play Pkmn White online but I have WPA password for my router and I'm playing the game off a rom (off an Acekard 2i in a DSi) whoch means it plays of normal DS moder rather than DSi mode. Now what I want to know, is if the reason for not being able to play in DSi mode is a software "Problem" or hardware "problem", why can't we just make it be able to go into DSi mode, in theory we could just make it so that the Ackeard runs and recognises it's in a DSi and then make the game run of the said AceKard, or we could even make the AceKard trick the game into thinking it was in DSi mode somehow.... I really don't know, I'm just looking for answers.

note: i made this topic specifically so i could be corrected.

Will NEVER happen.

No NDS or DSi Enhanced game will EVER support WPA/WPA2.
Only DSiWare (something written EXCLUSIVELY for DSi) will support WPA/WPA2.

Oh, ok sorry, I just got some wrong info from the some of the guys at the rom hacking board that told me that one of Pokemon B/W's DSi only features was that itcould take advantage of the DSi's ability to use WPA key format. Any way, I would still like to know a bot about why a Flash Cart can/cant go into DSi mode. Any help would be great.

Well... this guy says it's working with WPA: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/989552-poke...ersion/56418132

But given the source (GameFAQs forums) I'd take that with a big-enough-to-kill-a-horse grain of salt.
So I'd say there's probably a 50/50 chance that he's using WEP and doesn't realize it.

Lol, ok. Whats your oppinion on the whole Flash Cart DSi mode thing?

Not possible at this stage. Probably will never happen.

Not a lot of people is interested in using DSi mode. Not to mentioned that no one has "fully" cracked DSi mode yet. They would need to fully map out the DSi and have a digital signed key from Nintendo in order to fully understand it. Guessing the key (brute force cracking) will not be possible even with supercomputer because it take too long to find the right key.

And thus ends the dreams of thee, as thou are flushed down the toilets of despair, forever descending into it's never ending destruction, spiraling downwards into an abyss of watered down dreams and depressing flash cart gaming, does thou agree?

In other words... I'm screwed, aren't I?

Why is that? Just set your router into WEP 64 bit when you are playing your DS. If you still felt not secure then disable SSID broadcast and set up a MAC address filter.

Yeah, my older brother won't let me do that, don't ask why, I guess he's just paranoid. Looks like I'll be going to McDonalds for the free Wi-fi from now on.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
