Well, I did it... I updated my Wii to 4.1U via NSMBWii, and no damage! I'm so happy!

Note: If you plan to update this way, PLEASE make sure that your NSMBWii is in region. I.E: USA Mario with USA Wii. Out of region (USA Mario with EU Wii) could cause a brick, and you Mr. Sad.

I am now the a proud owner of a 4.1 Wii!

(Kudos to Nintendo for making disc updates another option aside online updates!)

you want a gold medal? Seriously, what do you expect? We all know its safe to update from NSMB, and that it will take us to 4.1, and that we should not update from an out-of-region game.

Just FYI, you also have a load of 4.2 IOS and boot2v4, as well as System Menu 4.1. Dunno why they didn't just stick in 4.2, they have the rest of the 4.2 update on there...

Congrats.

Updates from discs are designed to work without bricking if used on a stock wii. If its modded, there's no way to tell what could happen because the mods vary.
