Without starfall youll need a GC Pad(savemiifrii) and a modchip to fix this!
Get that and then well talk!

Okay, here's the deal.

I bricked my Wii trying to update to 4.0. I un installed the System Menu .wad so now the System Menu won't boot. I don't have a modchip installed nor did I have starfall installed before it bricked.

Will I need a modchip installed for this guide to work? Or there any other options to me?

Firstly - even though this TUT can't help me, I want to say THANKS to the author... very nice work and thanks for taking the time.

Someone needs to build a "Wii Brick" troubleshooting wizard like one at [http://savemii.net/troubleshooting.html] that explains the many different cases of wii bricks... I know it took hours just for me to figure out how fubar'd my Wii was because there are so many different scenarios.

PS: I think it's currently technically impossible, but if someone could update this thread's initial tutorial with a 4.0 Firmware method that would kick @$$

LISTEN I HAVE A MUCH EASIER WAY TO UNBRICK YOUR WII!!!! Note: (this process will make you wii a version 3.2U) (This will also only work if you have boot2 or priiloader installed)

Let's begin

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T3D44Z9Rv for NTSU Wii's

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XS6TDA3M for PAL Wii's

1. Extract the contents of this folder onto the root of your sd card.

2. Change the folder named Wads... to Wad.

3. Now your sd card should have these folders

boot.dol
Wad
apps
_Ds. Store_ (this file may not be visible)
Private.

4.now put the sd card in you wii and if you installed bootmii as boot2, then bootmii should load. (if you installed priiloader, hold down the power and reset button until it loads)

5. go to the homebrew browser.

6. go into wad manager and install the wads (IOS30-64-v1040.wad) and (SystemMenu-v289.wad) Note: (systemMenu-.289.wad may take a while to install normally around 1 to 5 minutes.)

7.after the wads have installed, you now have an unbricked wii.

8.ENJOY (hope this helped)

And what if the console was a "LU64" Wii? Then 3.2 will brick the thing worse than it was beforehand and there's no BootMii for them to fall back on.

Also, you're not supposed to be linking to Nintendo's wad files here anyway.

plus you would never run WAD Manager from Homebrew Browser in the first place so it oblivious the guy is stupid and who ever trys following this scribble of words is as stupid the the poster IMHO
