It's the only forum that I've stuck with. I like the layout and way things are done here more than other places. I've been a member for 8-ish years, though I lurked a bit more before I joined. Seems to attract the right kind of folk too. The fun kind.

7.8/10. To much water

But seriously, I have a reddit account, se7ensins account, and pretty much all other forum accounts (besides 4chan keep that shit away from me fam). I rarely use those and have stuck with this. For the most part, mods are friendly unless you're being a douche (New years eve, 2015 anyone?). But yes, it is my home away from home

While I've been on better (subjectively), this place has its moments. If this was a 10 rating, I would give 7.5

It's a place that I've always come back to through the years. I love this site, from the discussions, to the people, and the community in general. There's a reason this site has been the start up page on my browser for half a decade now. Does it have its low points? Of course, but what site doesn't?

Even past the simple stuff, this site has lead me to so many things outside of that. I've made life-long friends with some of the members here, I met my boyfriend here, I've gotten to attend E3 like a professional. Writing for the site made me realize I want to pursue a career in literature. Honestly this is the best site I've ever visited, for its impact on me alone.

Well, I met this forum like 3 or 4 months ago when I was getting into 3ds scene. Now, I spend a lot of time over here. And I'm not the kind of person who likes to spend time on forums.

I always found funny to a lot of things that are posted or commented here, so, it's like home.

And someone told me that when I reach the year/or the 1k comments, there would be some skiddo's grill.

I'm in the same boat as you. Except my time was back in November of 2015

After a year on this site, I've grown to love it more than any other site, including YouTube. The people here are so helpful and it's a great way to find people with similar interests. The News crew is "Top notch" and it's where I get all my gameinng news. Gbatemp is also the place where I learned to hack most of my consoles, so I have them to thank for that.

People are very nice and they fun to talk to.

My one complaint however is that that there are some discussions (very rare) that go a little to far in terms of insulting specific groups. One the bright side they don't happen mostly.

All in all. I love this site and I will come back for years to come.

I Joined this site for the God Eater 2 translation, got hit my P1ngPong for that massive spam in said thread, did a thread to introduce people to the Growlanser series, had a 40 page PM with my buddy Braig, and then found out I didn't want to leave, I frickin love this site.

Pretty bad these days.

3DS section and Wii U section are just awful. People prefer to insult people and make "witty" posts for likes rather than actually help. That's if topics aren't being derailed because someone dares to not use the latest and greatest method or because users have an axe to grind over something.

I doubt I would bother to sign up for help now with the way people behave.

It's ridiculous, people managed to act civilised even when we had a relativly large investment in whatever method you had (gba cards costing £100+), so you'd think people would be more defensive of thier choice, but nope, generally helpful. Most stuff is free these days and people act like animals.

That's why. It's free. It is so much easier to switch, that people get angry for no reason. Nobody spends money on Gateway or anything of the sort anymore.

There is some truth to that unfortunately. There are a few cancerous people on this site. I won't say any names. You know who you are....

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
