My friend is the same damn way with "mods" on any game.
I suggested that he should play Fallout3 GOTY on the computer, with the high def mod. I turn around for 1 week, and he doubles the size of the game with stupid useless mods that basically murders the game entirely.
JUST PLAY THE DAMN GAME FIRST THEN MOD IT!
Well I tried playing Fallout 3 GOTY without mods on the PC, and I
loved the gameplay (just like I loved Oblivion/Skyrim), but it was just too ugly for me to enjoy it. The textures.... ugh. Really, they put me off bigtime! I'm not a graphics whore, not at all, but those textures just made me cringe.
I immediately turned to Google and sure, my game was a lot bigger and it took a few secs longer to load, but the game was MUCH more enjoyable after the mods!
Besides, who cares about hard disk space, on a desktop?
The fact that GTA 5 will not, as planned at this moment, be released on PC in fact has everything to do with GTA 5.
I really really hope it gets released on PC, but it's not looking good. Also, I don't like to have a shitload of DRM on my PC, like GTA IV had (made the game so sluggish to play too, ugh. Steam DRM is the only thing I want, not some gay ass Social Club thingy where I can post things on facebook)
I think they will release it on PC, eventually, but I'm not sure. Red Dead Redemption wasn't on PC sadly, really sad. Might just buy a PS3 one day for Red Dead Redemption, God of War 3, GTA V, Heavy Rain and some JRPG games....
