Thing is, the bible cannot be treated as the almighty source of information - it's a guide book on how to live your life right, but it's supposed to be taken with a grain of salt. In all seriousness though, these issues should be regulated by law. It's not a matter of gay awareness anymore - we're all very aware of them. What it takes now is legislature. You don't need a gay parade, you need a few gay ministers.

Until the LGBT community has EVERY right of a heterosexual, it will never be equal. We are in a "Equal but different" kind of situation at the current moment.

We'll never be entirely equal because we are different. This applies to race, sexuality, nationality and religion issues. Black people can call other black people "N-Word (lol, censored)" without consiquence instead of saying "Hello". You do that in the same context and you're likely to end up with a bullet wound in your skull. You have to embrace the idea of difference. Each group of people is, in a sense, a private and very closed little tree house with some strict rules, and that means both privilages and obligations. You can't have all of our heterosexual rights cake. We like our cake. We'll give you enough pieces to make it fair, dear homosexuals, but we shall refrain from giving you cherries because we like cherries and we'll hog them because we're assholes.

In some countries it is found offensive to do that, as far as I remember. Same with getting off your seat in a bus when an eldery person doesn't have a seat. A Spanish granny is likely to diss you for being nice to her and offer her a yours.

I see your point and agree with it though, Rydian. Equality is generally a vague concept. Everybody wants to have more rights than someone else, it's only natural to attempt domination. That's the spirit of being human - competing. I personally open doors and get off my seat whenever I can/notice the necessity/am not tired as HELL. When I know I won't be able to stand throughout the whole trip, I'm being a troll and just open my paper, despite elder people nagging at me.

Once put me into trouble, actually. After 11 hours of non-stop working, I hopped into a tram and sat in the front seats with my earphones Full Volume Ahead and gazed throught the window. Suddenly I heard some old geezer screaming at me and waving some papers. I took my headphones off and finally I heard what he meant. He asked me if I'm disabled and used incredibly rude names while at it. I was infuriated and said "No, but I have two legs just as you do and they're both tired. Now stop screaming at me, you're covering me with spit." "Well, I am disabled and this is my disabled card". That's when I noticed that he, in fact, had only one leg. I suddenly understood why my statement shocked the other passengers. Oddly enough, I did not feel bad - that man was a prick and called me terrible names so he deserved standing up 5 minutes longer than I did, but talk about embarrasment. I'd gladly get off my seat for him if he said "please" instead of "you should get off, you d***, I hope you die before you reach my age!" etc.

I could have just as easily talked about the photos my boyfreind took of me at hanlan's point (clothing optional Beach) in Toronto that my cousin(s) accidentally came across. This is only embarassing as they were naked photos of me that were being viewed after my grandfathers funeral. I was just trying to show her pics of my boyfriends nephews, had no idea she would skip to the folder marked clearly private.
