This thread is unofficial.

So, DQIX came out not long ago, and I've seen alot of threads up about it, I decided to help everyone out a bit, and along with others browsing the thread can answer the unanswered questions as well.

I just thought this would clean GBAtemp up a bit, without being cluttered with DQIX posts.
I can rate your parties, tell you where and what to do, how to solve a problem, how to level quicker, etc.

Want to know where I'm at?

Upcoming Adventure: Upover
Information: Not currently interested in going to Upove at the moment, I am currently scavaging through all the different areas, training.

Party:

Xero - Level 34 - Male - Martial Artist
Sero - Level 69 - Female - Mage
Mirotz - Level 72 - Male - Warrior
X-Priest - Level 1 - Male - Priest (To Be Trained ...)

If you're wandering why my team is so greatly leveled, a simple explanation would be training. It isn't very hard, instead of taking quick step in between towns, I stop to battle each and every monster in my path.

So come one, come all, ask the magnificent DQIX guy a question or two.

Haters and Trollers unwanted.

I went and talked to Sellma for the first time.
I connected to the net and it did the downloading thing.
Then when I got to the store she said she had some great items
then "Oh what a shame. I don't sem to have DQVC's latest product info to hand at the moment
You'll have to connect to Wi-Fi connection to get it."
I can only conect once a day are theree no more items or something?

Well, I'm not sure.
I chatted with Sellma and got the items, have you tried doing it again?

It might be out, not sure how to system works.

that's impossible, tell us your party and "tactic" and we might see whats wrong or not.
a typical tip is always "powerleveling" but if your party is fucked up from the start, you might make the game waay harder then it should be.

All I have is one person. I believe you unlock the option to get more people in your party later int h game is it not? As for my tactic, I just tend to constantly attack her using the basic attack and use medicinal herbs when my health gets low.

I had full party at level 3 or 4.
go back to the inn where that blue haried girl and her mother is Stornwall(or something), and recruit your 3 members.
you can create them from scratch if they only offer something bad.

He He He, well what do you know I can recruit members now. lol, I'm such a noob at this game.

no, a noob wouldnt gotten so far without any party members.
hardly any good tutorials though in this game which might confuse people at the start.
anyway, I will say this, get a priest in your party.
your gonna need/want heal in the game. Later in the game your gonna be able to "specc better classes" for ex if your playing as a theif with the daggers you will learn posion ability, which is needed to finish the "posion 5 enemies" quest which leads to the ranger class.
Or for ex the warrior ability whipping boy which is needed to finish the paladin quest later in Gleeba.

For me Paladin was like the best class, they learn buff against attacks and magic, and can be used on the whole party, that means a fully buffed party vs any boss(even the last) can't hurt you more then perhaps 30-40% dmg of what they are supposed too, and if you bring enough mana potions (which can be bought) any boss, especially the last can be grinded down with ease. And that's not all, they can also use big hammers and smash their foes with + they can heal!
I'm not saying im an expert in DQ IX but for me finishing the game was "easy" with a Paladin in my party.

this was the party I finished the game with btw:

Ministrel level 42
Sword+ Shield

Mage level 41
Wand+ shield

Sage level 26 (sage is like an awesome priest + decent mage) she was a priest first but specced her a sage later.
Wand+ shield

Paladin 38
Hammer + shield

Well read spoiler for information on problem.
[title:Dragon Quest IX Spilers]Well I have just beaten guard in front of Glittingham Palace. But now I here I could get sage. This is my team
Armammentalist-Hero-Level:32-12Sword Skill,80fource skill.
Martial Artist-Level:36-3fan skill,93 focus
Mage-Level:35-3wand skill,87 spellcraft
Paladin-Level 29- 42Spear Skill, 66Virtue

I read guides that I will need multiheal and stuff like this. Should I make my mage into a sage once I get the chance or just bring back my paladin into a level 27priest and level up from there?

read what I said about the paladin, my tactic was to throw "Multiheal" while always having buff on my party.

the question you should ask yourself, can your monk+armaentalist dish out enough dmg?
I never used them, but if they can, you're fine.
Because my tactic was just using buffing/healing party and using "gigadesh" with my 100 skill swordman which did 450dmg per attack.
thats right, I didnt rely on my mage at all towards the end. All my Mage did was... throwing Oomph at my paladin and letting him sometimes hit when party was fully buffed and didnt need anymore heal... but that was just to speed up the process, hardly "needed".
