My laptop has a build in SD card reader and when I place the A-Data 8GB Class 6 Micro into the slot using the SD adapter that came with it, nothing happens. My laptop is an old Dell Inspiron 640m, so would it just be that the SD reader doesn't support SDHC or could there be other, software related reasons I could try now? (Just got it for my Acekard, and I don't have another card and would rather not wait for a new USB SDHC adapter if possible.)

if it's old it doesn't support SDHC, or maybe the reader has died, but I think it is being old is the problem.

I did a bit more looking and found out that Windows XP needed a hotfix to support SDHC. I installed it and had to reboot my computer twice (srsly wtf

) and now it seems to be working fine.
