Fans of either TowerFall or Celeste will be interested in this bit of news: Extremely OK Games, who developed the aforementioned two titles, is working on a new project named Earthblade. Maddy Thorson, the director of Celeste, explained that Earthblade will be another 2D pixel game, using the term "explor-action" to describe the gameplay. The teaser video offers a look at the logo, as well as a short music piece, serving as a "vibe reveal", rather than a full showcase of what the game has in store. Thorson further comments on Earthblade's development by saying, "It'll probably be a while before you get more information about Earthblade", and that progress will be slow, but the team has a definite idea of where they're going with the project.

Here's hoping they don't make it hyperpixelated again.
Celeste had great animation, and terrible graphics due to overpixelating.

Yeah, it looks nice but could have been so much more. It's pretty much a NES game with a huge color pallete.
I got way too spoiled by Ori.

Well of course any game's graphics could be better than how they currently are but considering the small team size and budget for Celeste I think the devs did an admirable job with what they have. I also think that since the game is a precision platformer the pixelated art style conveys information quickly and easily and I never got confused, which is an absolute must for a game like Celeste. With Ori it was sometimes hard to tell whether something was in the foreground or background or whether I could interact with it or not. imo an art style at the scale of Ori would be a detriment to the fast and snappy platforming of Celeste. Personally I just think the art style of Celeste is pleasant and meshes well with the midi soundtrack but I do see where you're coming from, Ori certainly is a gorgeous game.

Well I have something to look forward to in 2099. /s

The description makes me think they won't have screen transitions, which sounds really fun. Giving me some Zelda like vibes too.

Gotta remember that it isn't a preview, it's a "vibes reveal"
