You mean you don't know? I feel for you, dude.

I hope these are finished before I (probably eventually) need glasses.
You know, total eye replacements. Glasses would be annoying.
There's always laser eye surgery

Such advancements would better aid the blind or the near-blind. Swapping eye balls because of shortsightedness is a little silly, but that's just me

It's cool and great and awesome, and it's great that something like this is starting to be prototyped and tested and all that. But it is disappointing that we are only at retinal implants so far. For people who are born with blindness or others who may have a damaged optic nerve, this probably won't help.

I find your articles nice snippets of news that's not only game related very nice and refreshing. But why so cheesy :l

Anyway,

^Just about to say that. Is it possible to aid humans to live hundreds of years? Probably.

However, there would be people to stop it. There are already some who complain that the world is overpopulated as it is, (which is BS)

The earth is only able (in its current state) to support about 5 Billion of us fairly. That means feeding everyone and allowing them to lhave sufficient space to live fairly in comfortable in the habitable places. Were at 7 Billion and were skyrocketing to 8 (more people means more kids, which mean more people and so on.). Were facing hunger, disease and lack of space. The last thing we need is more people living longer. Say but true fact of the world. While its amazing to see how close those wonderful futuristic fantasys are coming, but at the point were in, it might end up more Blade Runner then Futurama, if you know what I mean.

FWAH, who needs google glasses? I'll just install CFW on these babies!
Just imagine the homebrew potential, that's gonna be amazing. All the emulators running in your eye.

Jokes aside, this sounds really interesting and is certainly going to help a lot of people when perfected.

if i had to see like that with dots and stuff i would rather be blind, that must be a horrible experience seeing like that, technology has a long way before this is even useful, if anyone has played deuses ex human revolution the main character has some cool eyes, i wouldnt mind a pair of those it would be better than normal vision as you can see in the dark and thru walls too plus other stuff, i doubt i will be alive to see tech like that become a reality though.

Don't be that doubtful, I wonder how long it took the first computers to calculate 1 million digits of pi. 60 years later and it takes less than a second!

I can just imagine how it would be for early adopters.

"Hold on, my eye froze. I need to reset it."

"Check it out, I got the new Apple iEye!"

"Cannot Unsee! No, seriously, I accidentally took a picture of it, and it's saved on the SD card."

"No, I'm not giving you the stink-eye, I'm trying to send you a file"

I highly doubt most blind people would care about "dots" and would just be grateful about being able to see.
