I believe current games won't make any much on Wii U or PS4 or XONE, so I thought to myself why not get a Wii U and make my 3-year-old boy happier.

It seems you made this decision based on your son. Bravo. Really. You are an awesome dad! (I have a five week old and am finding that I am akin more selfless decisions a day than I generally would in a month!)

That said, your decision isn't really based on the gamer in you, by the sound o fit. Rather, you are basing it all on what your kid would enjoy better. And I truly believe you made the best decision there!

One fallacy that I often see repeated though, is that the next gen console (and this refers to almost every console when it was "next gen") isn;t necessary because of graphics. To a degree, that is right. To a degree, next gen releases are just ports of previous gen releases at launch. HOWEVER, this changes (in a year or so) once previous gen consoles start to get dropped. That is perfectly normal and inevitable.

Right now I decided against both a PS4 and XBONE. I don't have a WiiU either, and that is largely due to a lack of games, though a handful of recent and upcoming releases has me rethinking that decision (Mario 3D World, Super Luigi U, DKC Tropical Freeze, Smash Bros, etc). For the hardware that is inside, I still find the WiiU a bit overpriced but, as I already mentioned, you are buying into more than JUST hardware here, especially with Nintendo. They get the most exclusive titles on the planet. And most of those exclusives are rather spectacular.

You are correct. I did base my decision more on my kid than anything else, but to be honest I wouldn't be having as much fun on a XONE right now, because of the lack of titles.

I'm very impressed with Wii U and very satisfied with my purchase!

I currently own 12 games and I must say these below are just incredible and alone would make me buy the Wii U again:

- Zelda Wind Waker (What a pleasant experience! This game is not only beautiful, but smart and creative. A must for any Wii U owner)
- Super Mario 3D World (This is what defines playability. C'mom I've played all Mario games since 1986 on NES and this is the BEST ever. It even tops Mario 64 and Mario World. Just amazing and a lot of family fun).
- The Wonderful 101 (This one takes a little getting used to. This is no ordinary game and I haven't played anything quite like it before. It's worth the effort, because it's another beautiful exclusive experience)
- Deus Ex: Director's Cut (This one is a multi-platform, but it really excells on the Wii U. It's a great example on how the gamepad can be put to good use.)
- Lego Undercover (Another exclusive that is a fan favorite. This is like GTA without violence and sex. Who would have thought a game this "childish" could be so much fun and soooo big)

Many other titles worth mentioning that I haven't played like Pikmin 3, AC4, Batman Arkham City Armored Edition...

Upcoming titles estimated to be released in the first quarter:

- Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (Looking forward to it!)
- Mario Kart 8 (Couldn't be more excited. Game of the year nominee for sure)
- Bayonetta 2 (Wii U exclusive and it's showing some fantastic use of the so called "inferior" hardware)
- Watch Dogs (yes it will be released for the Wii U)

And lets not forget the Zelda U (probably going to be introduced at E3).

I most likely will buy an XONE in April, but I'm afraid I'll have still more games to play on the Wii U. Wii U sales are increasing also and I hope this system does well not because I own it, but because it deserves to do well. It exceeded the expectations of everyone I know that tried it.

Like we all mentioned before, Wii U is paying a huge price for a very poorly marketing strategy done by Nintendo.

Cheers

I might have been one of the people talking up the XBO and the PS4 if I didn't have a computer that was high-end. I've always gotten Nintendo for their exclusives, which included exclusive ports from previous generations (like Skies of Arcadia and Ikaruga). Generally speaking, though, it has always been worth more early on to get a Nintendo console for their exclusives while having a PC to play the games most people buy either of the two other consoles for. It wasn't until way later in the 360 and the PS3's lifespan that I saw exclusives that I absolutely needed which were guaranteed never to become PC games, and I already see the same thing happening with the XBO and the PS4.

Yes for me the XONE exclusives will be better than the PS4's, but that's a matter of taste. I guess Nintendo is a whole other category in terms of exclusives. For example it makes total sense to me to own a Wii U + XONE or a Wii U + PS4, but little to no sense to Own XONE + PS4.

Games out now, or in the next few months, that I'd really like to get on each system

Wii U: 5-6
PS4: 1
Xbone: 0

Yeah, I think I'll keep asking Santa for that Wii U. Course, I'll probably get coal instead for being naughty. I can't help it, porn is so addictive.

I agree so is hentai breast expansion bro :)

It makes little sense to own a Xbone at all.
