But still you can load xci in emunand right? You can update SysNAND to 9.0.0 and keep EmuNAND on 8.1.0. Keep in mind that you can't use the gc slot on EmuNAND anymore after you have updated SysNAND to 9.0.0.

Yes, you can still load XCI.But still you can load xci in emunand right?
Not sure what the rush is no need to be on 9.0 at the momentSlow updates seems like a reason to me... It's a matter of taste, really.
I have no use for large "files" on external media but if you're into that sort of stuff SX certainly has more features catering to such things.
There is no need to update to 9.0.0 at this time. If you want to update to 9.0.0, or if you accidentally updated to 9.0.0 already, use Atmosphere for the time being and wait for SX OS to publish an update.
It should also be noted that, if not now, SX OS is likely to stop providing compatibility updates sometime in the future when it's no longer profitable for them to do so, and based on the sales data I've seen, that could be soon. It could be now, or it could be a year from now, but SX OS is likely to go the way of Gateway for the 3DS.
Considering the new obstacles in 7.x that possibly created a secure boot on patched systems as far as we knew at the time, the likelihood of no update from TX was significant enough that it was worth acknowledging.Yes, quite possibly it will - you said that it would possibly also stop when 7.x and 8.x came out. Nice to see consistency, but I guess that's how you boost post count.
Their service may stop at some point which its suppose to tbh I'd be surprised if they kept it alive to the end of the Switch's life span. But unless Nintendo changes how keys are encrypted to the point they wont work on lower firmwares then ppl like me wont be affected with their dead support its mainly those who use emunand to play online with sysnand/latest ofw. No.have you cut and pasted the part about the sales data you've seen, from previous SX update posts you've made in the past
I said support for 9.0.0 is likely coming.someone has already posted a screen capture from the TX website with the Admin stating it's coming soon in this thread
If SX OS doesn't receive future compatibility updates, then some new games will not work with SX OS.Their service may stop at some point which its suppose to tbh I'd be surprised if they kept it alive to the end of the Switch's life span. No.

Thats easy. Use the latest ofw keys and patch them via nscbuilder to a lower fw like 8.0.1. I do it all the time never fails so far.If SX OS doesn't receive future compatibility updates, then some new games will not work with SX OS.
That's fine. I'm saying though that it might not be as good of a long-term investment as one might have thought, given the likely inevitable end of support, particularly if one is just now buying SX OS.whats the problem then . my $45 was well spent over the last 15 months I've been using SX.
That's not the only kind of system version requirement. Newer games built with newer software development kits will require newer system versions, and there's no way around that.Thats easy. Use the latest ofw keys and patch them via nscbuilder to a lower fw like 8.0.1. I do it all the time never fails so far.
ex: Fire Emblem Three houses new dlc requires 9.0, but since I have the 9.0 keys I can patch any game/update/dlc to work on a previous firm.
That way I would never need to update thus not needing much of their new sxos updates. Unless Nintendo does something drastic.

You're not doing a good job keeping track of my word-choice. I use "likely" all the time to point out probable events.oh look a new word! We've had the age old favourite of ''possibly'', then ''probably'', now ''likely''. If you never make commitments it is easy to appear like you know what you're talking about. Maybe all the SX OS owners should possibly go post in the atmos threads where so many people are having issues (where something was once said about users not knowing what they're doing should not be using CFW. Or something probably to that effect). But I think if we did it would likely cause another fuss and mostly SX OS tend to not throw mud at other CFW users for their choices.
I was addressing a misconception that all games could be altered to be compatible with lower system versions (they can't). This had nothing to do with SX OS. Keep up.To match this logic, tomorrow the sun will shine during day time hours.

During the 3DS era, after free CFW with signature patches was released, Gateway became slow to add new features from free and open-source CFW, and Gateway was slow to push compatibility updates. Eventually, Gateway stopped putting out updates altogether. History appears to be repeating itself, which ends with TX silently ending support for SX OS. It could be now, or it could be a year from now, but it's likely to happen. If the money spent was worth it, great, but as time goes on, it is likely the money increasingly becomes less worth it. Personally, I'd say we are already there, but even more people will probably feel the same way when TX stops pushing updates.
SX OS had a lot of firsts, too. That's another way history is repeating itself, and it doesn't mean SX OS won't suffer the same fate.My kids have been using gateway cards for nearly 5 years, even without updates from gateway most games worked, only a few of the last games released didn't work.
slow to release new features, like what ? , maybe my kids didn't need them features, but if I remember correctly the gateway card had many firsts, like the first to run a game in 3d, emunand and other features.

the new zelda works just fine on 8.1 sx 2.8 but has frame drops in some parts
Yes, and I'm acknowledging the likelihood that, eventually, SX OS will probably be abandoned like Gateway was.but what it does mean, all the 100s of games that have been released up to now will still work with SX and according to you TX will 'likely' support firmware V9.0 so even more games will work.
