Question, since I can't find it on the thread, is there a way to change your town name at all (most likely through hex)?

You can use this method.

My HxD version is in french so I don't have the exact traslations but you'll understand

Open the ram file in HxD (or any other editor) and press ctrl+R (works in HxD), write your actual name in hex in the first search field (if it's John it would be
4A 6F 68 6E, add nullbytes if needed)
Write your new desired name in hex in the second field
Choose "Hex values" as type
And then click "replace all"

Do the same for your town name.

For the text message in the profile card, press ctrl+G and type 6B40 (message start at 6B44) in the search field

You'll see your message and then you can edit it, don't forget to reverse the bytes, E0A2 become A2E0

Not too much of a hassle, just have to use acnldump/acnlinjc instead for map editing.

It varies from time to time due to the high traffic it's getting. Just reload and try again.

No. Read the first post.

Requirements:

• old Nintendo 3DS/XL or 2DS at 9.x up to 9.5.0-22 (9.5.0-23 or higher are not supported)
• PAL, NTSC-U AC:NL or JP1.1 cart/digital
• a HTML5-capable browser (recommended: Firefox)
• you may need to delete the console's web browser configuration before dumping

i downloaded HxD and i think i understand except for one thing, how do you know which villager is which??

It could possibly be the SD card. I couldn't get anything to work on any of my 3DS's. I tried using a different SD card and it worked straight away.

Not sure actually, I'm not a fan of digital so I only have cartridges.

Has anyone figured out where the patterns are stored for villagers? I know how to change a villagers clothes but I'm stumped on finding the value for the pattern.

I'm having a real tough time getting the villager house placements. Please tell me you guys have some trick to easily knowing coordinates and such. I've tried twice and whenever I load up some houses aren't where I expected them to be and it will just brick my game and I have to go through the restore process.

The issue is most likely me trying to work the acre editor and relocate homes together. I give up on the acre editor.
