Since one of my villagers started wearing an ugly shirt, others have also joined in and it's spreading like the plague. So I managed to find where each villager's clothing is stored.
The values are:
  • 2A0D0 - 1st Villager
  • 2C5D0 - 2nd Villager
  • 2EAC0 - 3rd Villager
  • 30FC0 - 4th Villager
  • 334B0 - 5th Villager
  • 359B0 - 6th Villager
  • 37EA0 - 7th Villager
  • 3A3A0 - 8th Villager
  • 3C890 - 9th Villager
  • 3ED90 - 10th Villager
You need to change the value after the repeated DB07's. Still unsure about how to force a villager to wear a particular pattern as clothes because the value is 9430, even for different patterns.

could anyone tell me how to edit profile card, name, town name

My HxD version is in french so I don't have the exact traslations but you'll understand

Open the ram file in HxD (or any other editor) and press ctrl+R (works in HxD), write your actual name in hex in the first search field (if it's John it would be
4A 6F 68 6E, add nullbytes if needed)
Write your new desired name in hex in the second field
Choose "Hex values" as type
And then click "replace all"

Do the same for your town name.

For the text message in the profile card, press ctrl+G and type 6B40 (message start at 6B44) in the search field
You'll see your message and then you can edit it, don't forget to reverse the bytes, E0A2 become A2E0

So, I'm trying to edit my profile card picture... I found that it always start with FFD8 and ends with D9... I found the bytes, tried to replace them with new bytes, but it just doesn't work. I even nulled all the bytes after until 00006B40, but I can't get the image in game...

Any tips please ? I'm doing it right or not ?

If the name is already in japanase and you want it to latin, here's what you should do, a personnal trick :

Write the japanese name in a txt file, save it, open that file with HXD and you'll get something like that :

Forget FFFE and copy all the other bytes (AF30 EA30 B930 in this case), then you do what I posted above, search and replace

Got it ?

Can't explain better but if you give me your ram file and the japanese name, i'll gadly do it for you

Villager clothing patterns are stored within the villager data itself, it's near the beginning of the data. Couldn't tell you the exact offset but if you find a villager that's wearing one the pattern will be there.

In order to place perfect fruit trees you must change the item flag. You can even place all perfect fruit trees in your town :-)

Marc, could you please put my post from earlier to the main page? I think it may be helpful for people. The post I made about how to inject/dump a dream town with full instructions.

Thanks!

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.
