Hi all,
I purchased a Japanese Wii-U from Japan and upon booting it up yesterday, it had an issue where it wouldn't go past the white logo screen.
I had a spare Pi Pico laying around so I decided to wire it up to the motherboard and use de_fuse so I could load the minute menu (which was successful). I later found out that there are better ways of accessing the minute menu now, but since I had already done all the hard work of wiring it up - I decided to stick with it.
From the minute menu I was able to dump; otp, seeprom, slc and slccmpt - which I have now backed up onto my PC.
Thanks to some help from a Discord group I was able to verify from the sys crash logs that my hynix chip is pretty much dying.
I was then advised to install isfshax and redNAND.
I attempted to install isfshax and I got an error that my boot1 version was unsupported (8354). I was then told I need to update my boot1 before I can continue any further.
I've tried to do as much research as possible because I don't know what my next steps should be and I don't want to risk ruining my console. The issue is that I can't find any clear guides online and I'm finding myself trying to piece different tutorials together when in reality I have no clue what I'm doing.
Is there anyone who could possibly help me take this further? Or at least point me in the right direction with a guide or tutorial to follow? I'm quite capable of modding consoles but overall I'm quite new to the world of Wii-U, so please do keep that in mind.
Appreciate any help you throw my way!
