I’ve been using emunand hidden partition for a very long time and using original xci with their certificates I have never received a ban I use online very regular I have been doing this now I would say over 2 years, I’ve just literally come off a hard session with Mario Kart 8 online, mentioning the online use! Back in June 2017 I started doing this soon as certificate injection was an option.

Edit: I still own the original retail software but it’s easier for me to use this way with all my games on one sd card to access on the go which I do a lot, it helps.

ahh if the XCI Are your own rips and have your tickets / certs in them then yes, this would be the only case it is ok - however most users are not using their own XCI cart rips so it would be insta ban for them

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Patched users disagree :P

well, I mean if you're late to the party.. don't expect to experience all the fun that those early to the party experience :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

qlaunch reimplementation is definitely a lot cooler :)

if you prefer style over substance, sure. Apple product users unite!

But even though they are late, that doesn't mean they cannot experience what unpatched users have been able to experience. EmuNAND, at least for free CFW, was designed with patched users in mind. And with options such as Stock (which may be broken for now but will be fixed later), developers have intended for EmuNAND to be used online.

meh. I wouldn’t have much use for or use either of the options he gave. But a full open source reimplementation of a system applet definitely seems like a cooler thing to see than USB support in a homebrew app.

Guys is it true that the 2.9.1 breaks the stealth mode and so gets you banned? I read this on another forum saying they said this on their discord, but I'm not finding anything about it here on gbatemp.

I don't know but all I can tell you is that your EmuNAND should always stay Offline.
Don't trust 90dns, incognito, stealth mode or whatever, stay offline.

Update on Stealth Mode issue: We investigated the rumour that stealth mode is broken on SX OS 2.9(.1). So far it seems this is NOT entirely the case. If you have an eShop account linked to your console, and go into eShop some HTTPS traffic will flow in the direction of bugyo and Google analytics and such. The bugyo server is an unauthenticated frontend for eShop. Endpoints like dauth are fully blocked which can be observed by seeing that any such connections exhibit the SYN-SYNACK-FIN sequence, and no actual SSL/TLS frames pass through the connection. Which has always been the behavior of stealth mode with SX OS. We will see what we can do about blocking these other SSL connections. But it appears there's no imminent big risk, especially not if you simply don't access the eShop.

Both SimonTime and M4XW call those claims bullshit

so should I update to sxos 9.1? is it compatible with nintendos 9.1 firmware? I just want to play the patched doom games. does 9.1 not work on 9.1 firmware or something? I get nothing when I try to boot just a green light on the dongle.

edit: needed to hold the plus button. Can I get a refresher on how choidujour works? Do I need to find the latest firmware and put it on my SD card or can it just download it from wifi?

To be honest, I lost motivation to work on it (I'm more interested and focused in other projects) but well, the code is there, if anyone is willing to help with the work... ;)
What do you guys prefer, a custom qlaunch (HOME menu) or USB support? I do prefer a sweet, custom HOME menu to be fair :)
Lost motivation? Like 90% of the homebrew you start? xD

P.S I rather have USB Support.

Although no games currently require 9.0 some newer updates do. For example MUA3 2.0 update has master key 7 but require 9.0 FW according to the readme.
Update ignoring suggested firmware by using sx installer or tinfoil/hbgshop and you’ll be fine.
As far as I know there is currently no game or update that has required firmware above 8.1.0

usb support is a lot more handy for me

is SX installer not a native part of the SXOS firmware? I've updated doom for example and it needed 9.0 to run.

there is the simple installer built in to SX OS, but there is a better (more options, including over USB and network) SX OS installer as a separate download on the SX OS website.

don't people actually ever bother to look on the SX OS website at the different apps and updates they have there?

The native sx installer does not bypass suggested firmware but the SX Installer homebrew app which is just a port of tinfoil with a few extra features does, it can be obtained off the tx website
