Nintendo claims that it has "nothing new to announce" in regards to first-party 3DS games

The end might just be nigh for the little handheld. Around this time last year, Nintendo promised investors that they would continue to support the Nintendo 3DS, with ports such as Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, Mario & Luig: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser JR's Journey, and Luigi's Mansion, alongside a new game in the form of WarioWare Gold. Now that fiscal year 2018 has come and gone, it's time to look towards the future; one that doesn't seem to focus the the small system. In the latest investor briefing, the only mention of the 3DS was comparing the Nintendo Switch to its sales numbers.

Company analysts forecast that around 1 million systems will still be shifted throughout 2019, though there is no word on any further first party releases. If you still haven't upgraded to the Nintendo Switch, you'll still have an upcoming title at least, in the form of Atlus' Persona Q2. Currently, over 75 million 3DS systems have been sold, with 378 million games for it, in the eight years that it's been on the market.

The Gameboy SP or a regular Advance with the light fixed is okay, add a Gameboy Pocket to that and you can play like 98% of the games.

Those funtions were kinda replicated on the Game boy Color games that also worked on the regular Gameboy.

Still I am quite sure the Gameboy Color could play Super Gameboy games, but maybe I am wrong.
Gameboy player lets you play all of them on the TV though

Does the GB player do all the multiplayer stuff and extra colours? It might well do the GB/GBC stuff but I was not aware of it doing the SNES added extras ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Super_Game_Boy_games wikipedia I know but reasonable for this, I already linked https://loveconquersallgam.es/post/2350461718/fuck-the-super-game-boy-introduction but I will do it again).

Some of those extras are pretty good -- I have long held the super gameboy bomberman to be right up there in terms of multiplayer bomberman (I would mention it in the same breath as the PCE/TG16 and Saturn stuff, ahead of anything I played on the GBA and DS too, though the GBA and DS stuff did do OK). Granted I am one of the freaks that likes Bomberman 64 so my word might not mean much here. Probably ahead of XBLA bomberman and while Atomic Bomberman holds a special place in my heart then barring a lot of customisation (that Atomic Bomberman afforded you the options for) then probably that too.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't do the extra colors. Rather, it will load any games as a GBC would. So, even though Pokémom Blue was Super Game Boy-enhanced, it will load with the overworld in blue and without the special colorization for the Pokémon battle sprites. Pop it into a Super Game Boy, though, and it'll look a lot like Pokémon Yellow did on the GBC (different towns are different colors, Pokémon battle sprites are in color, etc.).

EDIT: I actually found a video showcasing this:

That reminds me, is the Nintendo 64 Pokemon Stadium playing the Pokemon games as a Super Gameboy would?

I’d rather have it legally and/or without buying extra hardware or system modifications...
Frogminer/Fredminer are completely free full cfw on the latest firmware.
i admit it makes me swell with pride saying that ;p

All console softmodding is technically *illegal under the DMCA (definitely including DS flashcards - yes I checked your short post history :P)
* It's like going one MPH over the speed limit or jaywalking type of illegal though. Nobody gets in legal trouble for hacking their own console.

GBAtemp is kind of a strange place to be if you don't like console hacking, but to each their own. I respect what you think is right.

I do like to hack, and I use a supercard dstwo plus almost everyday, but there isn’t a conventional 3DS flashcard that functions the same way as that (that I can think of) so it’s kinda tough!

No is not.

Get an original R4 or a 3DS compatible R4 clone that's on the list. And then follow the instructions to install Luma. With an old 2DS you don't even have to use a magnet.
