Hey guys, I have some older version of Luma3DS (7.0-7bbff7d), FBI (2.4.12) and all that stuff in my n3DS, but after a couple years with little use and no updating, the CFW and FBI won't update on its own.

I noticed in the 3ds guide that there's newer methods in the area. So how can I manually update my CFW? Which guide should I follow?
And, actually, is there any benefit in updating in my case?

You should follow https://3ds.hacks.guide/a9lh-to-b9s (after confirming you have A9LH - if you have arm9loaderhax.bin and not boot.firm on your SD - I am pretty sure Luma less than 7.1 will be A9LH but doesn't hurt to double check)

Which option to choose in FBI to delete a game?

Only delete title or delete title with ticket?

By loading luma updater 2.2, it points me to the same guide you linked and says:

Code:
payload type: sighax
payload path: /boot.firm
backup payload: yes
current installed version: 7.0-7bbff7d

could not obtain update details
check that the console is connected to the internet.

And inside the SD card's root there's actually both the files you mentioned: arm9loaderhax.bin and boot.firm. Here's a screenshot: https://imgur.com/jsGBJbE

Oh OK good, sounds like you already have B9S then. Just download Luma 9.1 and replace your boot.firm. You don't need arm9loaderhax.bin, you can delete that.

Cannot write much have to leave - sorry for only giving quotes and links:

Additional Feature: finding and restoring the KeyY.
If you have the Nintendo 3DS folder backed up from a previous profile that was removed from (1) Format System Memory and (2) NOT involved in a System Transfer, this script can brute force up to 256 iterations finding the lost KeyY in the movable.sed linked to a specific <ID0> subfolder. To read more how this works,
Assuming the rest of the KeyY string is correct, finding the 0x118 hex counter that matches the target <ID0> can take up to 1.5 hour to complete or as little as 1 minute. This depends on the search order (this script looks backwards, ex: 03 → 02) versus value of the "correct" hex counter relative to the starting search value (ex, "correct" value is 04 but script is looking backwards, which will take a long time to find and calculate).

Update March-21-2019:
Version 1.1 includes backing up the user's original sysnand ctrnand data profile if the KeyY is fixed. :!: Changing the KeyY will automatically delete the 1:/data/<ID0> that's in place due to mismatch in encryption upon the next HOME Menu boot. This would force the user to create a new profile. The script provides the option to correct the 1:/data/<ID0> to the new KeyY. However, certain previous items like Friends List will be corrupted; the Friend Code is directly derived from KeyY.

Sorry if there's a sticky somewhere I didn't see, here are a few things:

1) In FBI, do I click install or install and delete?

2) How do I play .3DS files?

3) How do I update a game?

1. Install and delete unless you want to use the cia file again (eg you want to install on another console and you already deleted it off your PC)
2. You don't, unless you want to waste $100 on a flashcart that has less functionality than what you've got now with CFW. If you accidentally downloaded a 3DS file instead of cia you can convert it with GodMode9 to avoid having to download a whole new file.
3. Go to the eShop and update, or follow the prompt that appears when you try to play a game that needs an update.

Thanks a lot!

I've seen .cia files with a separate update file so I didn't have a clue! Is there a guide for converting with godmode9?
I know I installed it with the guide but I can't even see it on my 3ds.
