Lawbreakers developer teases new free to play "battle royale" game
Despite the commercial failure of developer Boss Key Production's competitive first-person shooter game "Lawbreakers", it seems the studio hasn't been deterred, as they'll be focusing on releasing a brand new game. Capitalizing on the huge popularity of PUBG and Fortnite, this new game, titled "Radical Heights", plans to follow that trend as well, and will be their take on the "battle royale" genre. Last week, Boss Key had reported that they were shifting focus from the dying Lawbreakers, and moving development onto a new game, which was to be expected. However, in a bit of a surprise, the company quickly announced that Radical Heights would be releasing on Steam/PC very shortly on April 10, 2018. The game is described as a shooter with a 1980s aesthetic. The full Steam description is below:
Welcome to RADICAL HEIGHTS, a free *X-TREME Early Access* BATTLE ROYALE shooter. Partake in high-stakes battle royale gunplay in a sunny SoCal dome as contestants drive-by on BMX bikes or stalk other contestants from the shadows in search for weapons and prizes...but also CASH that you can bank - win or lose! Whether you spend that cash on righteous customization in your personal prize room or pull it from an ATM to purchase weapons early in the next game -- building a wealth of cash is as important as taking down the competition in this irreverent 80s-themed action game show where everyone wants to be rich and famous!
Earlier today, an announcement trailer for the game went live, and quickly amassed far more dislikes than likes, and is currently sitting at a ratio of 500 likes and 1500 dislikes on YouTube. Radical Heights is set to release for free on Steam's Early Access program tomorrow, but for those who wish to spend money, there will be a $14.99 "founders pack".
