Hi,
first of all thanks for the great service you guys do ..
modmii is as easy as it could get to hack wii :)

I am new to this so I may not use the correct terminology..
Ok here goes:

- Used midmii and followed every step as mentioned
===

  • This guide was generated using the following parameters:
    • Install and\or update all recommended softmods
    • Current firmware is 4.3U
    • Desired firmware is 4.3U
    • Install Photo Channel
    • Install Internet Channel
    • Install Weather Channel
    • Install News Channel
    • Install Mii Channel
    • Install Shopping Channel (and IOS56)
    • Install Wii Speak Channel
    • Do not update active IOSs (can be enabled in options)
    • Do not Install a cMIOS (can be enabled in options)
    • Install a USB-Loader Forwarder Channel (can be disabled in options)
    • External Hard Drive to be Formatted as FAT32
    • Download Configurable USB-Loader
    • USB-Loader Settings and config files saved to USB Hard Drive
  • ====
when i boot wii I get the bootmii screen where i need to press reset key to enter the main screen

I used the WiiBackup manager to format (fat32) and copy just one game to a USB flash drive
In the above it says "USB-Loader Settings and config files saved to USB Hard Drive" I am not sure what else need to be copied to USB drive.

In any case, when i plug in the USB flash drive and go to USB loader, i see the Game i copied (with no image etc)
âWhen i select it it hangs while displaying "loading .."
â
âI tried a different Flasg drive as well as formatting as WDFS - With WDFS, it goes past loading and shows the
warning about strapping the remote to the hand etc. and when i click a key it hangs...

What am i doing wrong? or is every thing ok and i only need to get a different drive?

Thanks again for all the help

What game were you trying to load? It may have been a bad rip, or required a different cIOS base. Maybe it was your drive, but if it showed your game fine I doubt it.

Thanks for the response ..

I now tried 2 thumb drives one USB enclosure and one WD passport 500gb I think this is supposed to work with USB loader (from compatibility table) .
I am guessing i am using USB loader - It shows up as CFG before I see the games ..But i click USB loader channel

i am now suspecting that I might have missed or did one of the steps wrong.
I might also be doing some thing wrong while copying to HD.
BTW i also tried about 10 different games. All of them hang while loading or near the warning message.
I copied these games from a friend on to one of my hard drive (ISO files) (NTFS to NTSF).
Now i am using wiibackupManager to copy the games from NTFS hard drive to WDFS formatted various drives.
Is there a way to find if the games i have are actual proper copy or not? (MD5sun or some thing like that?)

One more observation is : when i select a game and click on manage -> download cover - The system crashes (exception encountered)
Is there a way to pageup after the crash to see what exactly caused the crash
This happens for all the games - Not sure if this is clue that i dint install some required

Thanks again for all ur answers ..

Hello there, I've got a problem that you guys might be able to help me with.

I can't load Virtual Console games from my SD card. I first move them from the Wii to the SD card, and when I try to load the game, it says "Failed to launch". I also can't move them back to the Wii afterwards, so I had to reinstall them. I can, however, load WiiWare games from the SD card, so the problem lies with VC games.

I recall reading somewhere that downgrading my System Menu to v4.2 (I've got 4.3E now) would solve the problem. I've also read that downgrading your Wii is a really bad thing to do. What of this is true, and do you have any advice?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. Hey, at least I didn't make a new thread :P

You need a patched system menu ios to play pirated virtual console games from sd . Just get a patched ios 80 from modmii & install it .

smart ar53 , ok i read it in the wrong context lol :)

got a problem with wiiflow , when i change a theme then go into wiiflow click to bring a game up close and then look at the 5 pages of settings there all the text in these 5 pages has 2 different texts overwriting each other, if i change the .dol in the apps folder i don't get this but however that causes me more problems as i cant play online wifi games any longer. i want to leave it on default theme but i dont know how to delete the game titles showing up as i go through the games. I dislike the titles being displayed due to spelling errors in titles, e.g hell's kicthen, i have been into the wbfs folder and corrected the spelling but it wont change on the text on screen. has anybody got a link for wiiflow thats not got these errors with a plain black theme no fancy decor just black all over with white settings texts?

That's stupid lol. The currently stable and best cIOS is d2x v7 final. I recommend to slot 249 base 56 and 250 base 57. cMIOS is the current one from wiipower, see the neogamma beta thread. And no, darkcorp is not really good :P The USB Loaders are still the same, cfg-loader, gx and wiiflow. You need to decide. And to get USB games to boot from disc channel check out NEEK2O.

alright cool. couple more q's. the hbc installer only goes up to rev 6, and when i meant from the disk channel i meant just regular disks so i wouldnt have to use neogamma. also, what do I need 250 for? ive always just been loading 249 in neogamma and then the game. The reason i brought up darkcorp was that it had good compatability, but outdated IOS's and such

Listen why your base suggestion is not so good :P

OK, you'll need the latest installer of course for v7. IOS249 base 56 plays pretty much all games, but some games like call of duty need base 57. So you'll need to install that too. Yeah I know what you mean with the disc channel but take a look at usb loading.

@Fazermint:
You can use IOS249 too to install a patched IOS80. Oh and NEVER uninstall this patched IOS80 or your wii is fully broken and you can throw it in the trash.

Can i ask where you got that installer? I just checked the thread and its only up to rev 6. Lastly, should i set up an emulated nand and keep my real nand clean? Its only got ios 236, hbc, and d2x in slot 249 so far.

I packed the installer by myself and uploaded it :P Nah, emu nand is too complicated for you, stay with what you have.

hi,
Just wanted to repost as my post got lost ..

couple of Qs:

- I gave modMii that i will use Fat32 but I am formatting as WDFS - Is this OK or should i be changing some config some place before plugging in a
different formatted HD.

- The games i have are in ISO files in an NTFS formatted disk - i am using wiibackupManager to copy the games from NTFS hard drive to WDFS formatted drive - Is this proper way of copying the games to HD?

- Is there a way to find if the games i have are proper (working) copy or not? (MD5sum or some thing like that?)

- Is there one test i can do to confirm that i did do the Wii hack and USB loader correctly and the reson i am not able to play games is purely HD related?

One more observation is : when i select a game and click on manage -> download cover - The system crashes (exception encountered)
Is there a way to pageup after the crash to see what exactly caused the crash
This happens for all the games - Not sure if this is clue that i dint install some required patch?

Thanks again for all the help
-Kal
