i had it soft modded for usb loader and gc back launcher thingy what ever its called, installed sundriver. Everything worked except unrecognized disk or w.e error. uninstalled usb loader and gc launcher and nope no go, decided to try virginize and it couldnt delete some stuff it wasnt found so it didnt work and sundriver still doesnt work. Ive ordered the nero dual programmer to try updating the sundriver itself and hope that is it or im down another $30. Ive posted onevery forum i can think of, wiihacks, gbatemp, wiiso, afterdawn and no one has answered/found a solution.
The problem is not related to your softmod. It's pretty obvious that your sundriver is the problem. Send it back if you can.

im waiting for my nero dual programmer to try that and update the card if that fails ill send it back

if my dual programmer ever gets sent out its been two days not shipped and no email response argh... stupid foundmy.com

Quick question about ModMii.

My PC has no SD card slot. If I use ModMii normally, except with a USB thumb drive instead of an SD card, and then I transfer those files to an SD card using another computer, will it still work fine?

Does anyone know of a SD card loader in which there is no need to format to WBFS or am I pretty much screwed? Also, any way to put the ISO on a FAT32 formatted card without having to convert it to a .wbfs file?

Cfg, WiiFlow, and many others. The answer to your second question is no. There is no benefit to keeping it as an ISO file anyway, you will save tons of space by changing them to wbfs files. Some games are under 100MB, but will still take 4.7GB in ISO format.

I see. One last question: which files do I need to update to the latest IOS and hotfixes?

I'm stuck on trying to softmod my Wii 4.3U. I've gotten to the part where I install BootMii. The next step is installing YAWM Multimod Batch. The guide says I need to change the iOS to 36 but I don't get that option. Even when I don't choose 36 I move on to the next step that says to create a NAND backup but then my Wii Remote turns off. I'm completely lost here and don't know what to do.

What guide are you following? It must not be a good one. The NAND backup is the first thing you should do.

Start over with ModMii.

I'm using the guide here on GBATemp: http://gbatemp.net/t171901-modify-any-wii-4-3-below

And the guide doesn't say anything about ModMii. I don't even know what that is!

ModMii is a much better way to mod your Wii. It's stickied. You download ModMii and it generates a guide and files for you.

Many, many thanks for suggesting ModMii. After trying all afternoon trying to mod my Wii, ModMii did it in less than an hour. Thanks so much!

I am in the process of modding my Wii. I think I got the modding part down, now for the loader/backup part.

I partitioned my 500GB USB drive into FAT32/NTFS and used Configurable USB Loader. Well, it wouldn't read it. It's trying to load with IOS 249. Is that the wrong one? Which would be better?

So now I tried formatting to .wbfs and using WBFS Manager to put games on it, as well as switching to USB Loader GX. Well the games went on the partition fine, but USB Loader GX/Configurable USB Loader still won't read the HDD. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong guys?

Also, the USB HDD is in the correct port and I know this HDD works with the Wii, I've done it many months ago.

If your USB device has multiple partitions, the partition with the games on it must be the PRIMARY and ACTIVE

Did this. Configurable USB Loader still can't find it (tried IOS 249, 222, and 223 - all of which I'm fairly sure are installed) and USB Loader GX hangs at 'Loaded cIOS 222 R4'.

Edit: After letting USB Loader GX hang on 'Loaded cIOS 222 R4' for a couple minutes, it just says my device can't be loaded and then returns to the Wii menu.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU-

Disregard my last post, I got that figured out. Now I have a bigger issue...

When playing any backup, after about 45-60 minutes of gameplay, my Wii just shuts off. No light are on or anything. I don't even know where to begin troubleshooting this... Any ideas?

Hey guys, I just have a quick question. I softmodded my Wii 2 days ago and everything is working fine, I was just wondering if I need to pay attention to any updates on stuff and where I can find these?

oh and I was also wondering, does the savegame from a game I have on disc work on a backup loaded game as well if I use the same region?

As long as you used ModMii or Softmod ANY Wii, you should be fine with your setup. If you want to keep track of updates and new apps, I suggest you subscribe to the feed on this site:

Sometimes it's a few days behind on news, but it still covers just about everything.

To answer your second question, yes, you can use the same save file.
