Ok, I've done that. I'm now getting greeted with the message:

'The skin Adv.EvoR can't be found

Adv.EvoR couldnt be found either

Please delete globalsettings.ini and restore Adv.EvoR theme.'

You're doing something wrong. It sounds like you re-copied the akmenu4.nds and the _aio directory from your old SD card. Older globalsettings.ini files have some setting that are incompatible in newer versions, which is why we recommend deleting the old version, or just wiping the SD card.

Rewipe the SD card with the Panasonic formatter. Install AKAIO 1.8.6.a. Copy back ONE rom you want to test, preferably the one from the video.

After that copy back whatever roms you want. DO NOT copy back the akmenu4.nds or the _aio directory from your old SD card backup.

I already updated using my lite and I was running Akaio 1.8.6a at the time
then I reformatted the whole thing with Panasonic and redled the Akaio 1.8.6a and put it on the card and it still didn't work

I've got a strange problem recently.
Several days ago I oredered acekard 2i, 3ds compatible and stuff and bought transcend 4gb microsdhc card.
So I unpacked both acekard and microsd card, plugged my card into the cardreader, uploaded latest AKAIO and some roms to test it, then plugged card into flash card and plugged flashcard into 3ds. Everything booted okay, I launched some games and every single game froze after some time. Contra 4 got frozen right away after showing game logo, Cooking mama froze just after game logo. The only game that had bo problems was New super mario bros.
I thought; "ok, maybe the problem was with card formatting". I reformatted it with panasonic utility, redownloaded the same roms from another places and tried one more time. And guess what happened? The problem was just the same as before! I thought: maybe the acekard is fake or something, but according to official site - it's not. And now for the most strangest part. I plugged my sdhc into card reader to find out it became unreadable. I could not format it, delete anything from it and so on.
So ok, maybe the microsd card was bad or malfunctioning. I tried the same thing with another micro sd card by kingston(I mean uploading AKAIO and plugging into acekard) and it became broken too. Have anyone had the same problem? Sure, I can get another one micro sd, but I couldnt decide what keeps breaking them? My 3ds or acekard?

I was successful at resolving issue with dying sd cards. it seems that the problem was with sdhc cards only. All of those non-working-freezing-whatsoever games are working fine on kingston 2gb sd card. And by the way, it works okay even without paper trick. Thanks for help!

Okay I read through 27 pages on this topic, and I still didn't find this answer: I updated my Acekard 2i (HW:4444) and I "Bricked" my card. Is there anyway to fix this????

Thanks

Well if they do, here's hoping it'll work post 3ds update... cause I will be getting it simply because of all the neat bonuses... may try on my wife's 3ds first because if her's gets banned from online it's no loss

AK2i update for 3DS2.0 and DSI1.4.2

This update support 3DS2.0 and DSi1.4.2. Please refer to readme file in the package. AK2i of HWID44 can be updated this time too. But AK2i of HWID44 can't be recognized after using power button to reset console. You need power off console and turn it on again.

I have updated my ID44 to the latest Acekard firmware and now the icon when I put it into the 3DS is saying ACEKARD 2i and not Chessmaster, has anyone else had this? Not got the bottle to run the card at the moment lol

Are you running AKAIO 1.8.1? Looks like it from the video.

Take a backup of your ROMS and homebrew

Take your sd card and reformat it with the Panasonic SD fomatter

Then load AKAIO 1.8.6a onto the SD card
I just wanted to say that even as someone who had already been using 1.8.6a, this got me going again.

Does anyone know if the new update (2.0.0-2) fixes the street pass problem after the 3DS fully powers off (juiceless battery) or when the battery is removed?

Anyhow, I updated my cart last night via my DSi. First time bricked my acekard with the DSi file. Reflashed it with the DSLite version of the update and it works!
