To fight against mass subscription of spam bots spreading misinformation, Elon Musk decided to introduce a small monthly fee to newcomers to his platform Twitter (now X)
Since AI can now bypass captcha, they are now locking the possibility of posting behind a monthly subscription (from what I understood, it would be a small monthly fee for the first few months)
They hope it will prevent the mass creation of new accounts through AI, since it would cost much more to those who use such method

Twitter is on the brink of death, and nobody would ever want to pay a subscription to still use their account.
