Thanks to Averne's response. I think the optimization job is done. Now from my test the latency can be as low as 46ms like my capture below.

Latest build is attached below, and if there is no any big change about ffmpeg, there will be no more update. Current performance can even support fps games well. Latest code is uploaded to https://git.sr.ht/~kkwong/chiaki, hope one day it can be integraded to official build.

This one freezes my whole switch when I press a to go fill in the account id 🤔 have to rehack it n everything. Happened twice now, gonna try again, third times the charm I hope

Edit: happened a third time. Guess I'll go back to the previous build

Edit2: now the previous build does the same thing when it didn't before

Edit3: for some reason having sysclick enabled wouldn't allow pulling up the onscreen keyboard without freezing. Had to disable it and reboot and it worked. Probably won't enable again as I won't need overclocking for 720p. Thanks for all your hard work! Love chiaki it's an absolute game changer for me!

And one last thing! This new build goes hard! Smooth as butter and great quality! The previous build would sometimes lock me out of the controls for 5 seconds or so every now and then, a bit annoying but it was worth it with the increased quality lol now this one as far as I can tell seems to alleviate that issue! Huge thanks again! Keep up the good work

Incredible work! the latest version latency is much improved!
Do you know if there is a way to launch the chikai NRO app, that wakes up, and connects to your ps5?
Just want to set this up for my kids, but they get lost in the menus...
Also, why no more updates?

Incredible work, man. I can immediately feel the improvements, and what's more, normally I'd stream 540p60 because sometimes the stream would have trouble keeping up. Now I'm having virtually zero issues with 720p60. I'll have to try 1080p after this.....

Oh and the controls intermittently locking up mid-stream? That seems to be gone now too. :)

I wish I had a PS4 Pro just so I can use 1080p on Switch and PC.

Oh well. Not worth buying one just for that one reason. (I know and the higher resolution)

You can always use something like Lossless Scaling and upscale the 720p stream with FSR. It's not a real solution, but better than nothing. :P

Btw, you should probably put your new NRO (zip it first) in your repository like the original developer did (e.g. here: https://git.sr.ht/~thestr4ng3r/chiaki/refs/v2.2.0). For archival purposes, in case it never gets merged into the official build.

Because there are multiple hosts in settings, and chiaki cannot decide which one to connect, so mannual select is essential.

And why there will be no more --- current build fulfills all my need to play in bed when TV is occupied by my families...:yayswitch::switch: If there is some performance related update in ffmpeg or libnx, I will try to follow.

Haha, if you look at my repo for v2.2.0 build, I have uploaded my nro file in it. I didn't modify the version in case origin author need to do a pr.

Just a suggestion, but what if the GUI is removed entirely? As in, Chiaki would launch using the first and only setting in the config file and connects using that. The downside to this is that you'll have to register your console manually outside of the app. But if you've already done that, then it's just a matter of copying the config file over the the GUI-less Chiaki build.

It would be amazing if something like this is possible
Once it's setup, there's no need for the GUI
Would love to be able to just open the NRO forwarder, and it automatically wake > connect to the ps5 <3

Hey guys, is there a way for games to be suspended using Chiaki?

Chiaki is perfect now (thanks to @kkwong ) but this is the only thing that annoys me.

I can't suspend the game at all, so if I wanna take a break or go to the bathroom, Chiaki must be up and running lol.
Any attempts to suspend the game will just kill the connection. Is there a way to keep things running in the background?

I don't get what you mean, why can't you just pause the game on the PS4 or PS5 side? Why would you want to close Chiaki?

So I can save battery life on Switch. By suspending I mean actually turning the screen off/sleep mode, sorry if that wasn't clear

With any other game on Switch, I can quickly go back to the game by pressing the power button, but with Chiaki that doesn't work at all, Chiaki will be frozen and I'll have to close it and reconnect to my console.

Oh I should have figured out that's what you meant, and I agree with you. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like he's going to do any more updates.

This last version is just perfect performance-wise, thank you very much for making it possible!

What I would like to also request if possible, is the possibility of touchpad button mapping, I love playing games in tabletop mode with my Pro Controller while the TV is occupied, but having to reach for the touch screen to open the map or so is just something that can break immersion so easily.
