Still stumped on this; probably won't be able to mess with it until after my move. As I said, I got to like the 4th page of instructions before, and tried to do the second Wii U Exploit through the browser, but instead of doing what it was supposed to do, it just kept booting into Homebrew instead for some reason.

SOMEBODY please explain to me and my pea brain what exactly I'm doing wrong. I'm short on time here.
Hi!
By launching the exploit on the page of the website you are using, you probably forget to hold down the "X" key.
I think that's what you forgot!

This is the hack I have been waiting for. I wonder though, is it possible to host your own server so you don't necessarily have to connect to the internet in order to reach the web page the first time? I ask just in case the web page should ever be forced down for some reason.

Should be possible if the files was given.

Can someone help me?
i've followed all the steps until the end of this page, after installing the PayloadLoader i should be able to launch tiramisu by just entering the health safety app, but the app just return me to home and doesn't activate tiramisu, neither can i enter the environment loader by pressing x while launching the app. I don't know what could be wrong.
https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/tiramisu/installing-payloadloader
Edit: it seems that indeed i can enter the environment loader by presing x while launching the health and safety app, it just happen that my gamepad's R button is 'stuck' pressed so it's permanently sending it's input. I managed to avoid that by using my wii u pro controller instead and putting the gamepad in tv mode to block its inputs before launching the health & safety app.
Now, from the "PayloadLoader Installer" menu i've set the system to boot in the health safety app and thus the payloadLoader. Now after doing that it seems that still the system doesn't enter tiramisu neither on boot or when entering the h & s app

Can anyone tell me the benefit of updating from CBHC to Tiramasu?

I've got a WiiU I haven't used in years, I just pulled it out so that I can use it to make a video but I'm always keen to keep things up to date!

Currently, when I turn the console on I get a notice that CBHC 1.60 is booting, so obviously I'm Coldbooting CBHC. Just wondering what improvements or differences I might see using Tiramasu.

Thanks all!

Tiramisu is more reliable :
  1. it doesn't rely on a hack with high risk of brick (with CBHC, if you format your WiiU, if you delete the user who owned the DS Game, if you move it outside the NAND → instant brick, read all recommandations against brick below ↓↓↓↓ )
  2. it boots faster
  3. it's more flexible
  4. there is a lot of modules and plugins to make the perfect hack for your own needs
  5. it's "smarter" (my point of view. Of course, I also like the CBHC method, but the risks are higher than the benefits)
1) is already a really good reason to use Tiramisu instead of CBHC ! :moogle:

CBHC Bricking risks

To prevent your Wii U from being bricked, do not do any of the following:
  • Do NOT move the CBHC channel to a USB device or anywhere outside the NAND.
  • Do NOT uninstall the Coldboot Haxchi channel without properly uninstalling Coldboot Haxchi first.
  • Do NOT format the system memory.
  • Do NOT delete the user that bought the DS game Haxchi was installed on top of.
  • Do NOT download the DS game Haxchi was installed on after CBHC was installed.
  • Do NOT install Haxchi again inside CBHC.

I just noticed that my wii U is on 5.5.5U and my wii U is asking for an update, can I update while having tiramisu installed? Or do I have to uninstall it first before updating to 5.5.6U?

There are reports of 5.5.6U update running for a quite a long time - several hours - and (semi?) bricking consoles if console was forced to shut down. So I'd be a bit vary on the update myself. And if doing it, letting it run however long it took.

Might be a symptom on NAND "giving up the ghost", but as far as I know, nothing definitive has yet been found of the reason of long update time.

I play the wiiu almost every day, and I'm on 5 5.6, no issues for me. It did revert my theme back to official, but that was easy to fix.

Yeah - I guess for most people update works as intended. I guess for you the update didn't take hours? Anyway my point was not to shut down the console if the update did seem to be frozen :)

Also keep in mind that the 5.5.6 update removes coldboot for some users, so you'll boot into stock firmware instead of Tiramisu. That's easily fixable through: Just run the coldboot setup again.

I currently have Hacxchi and the Homebrew Loader already installed.

Am I right in thinking I can just leave both in place whilst installing Tiramisu and then delete only Hacxchi once Tiramisu is up and running?

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
