I mean, I don't mind indies on the Switch. If the world was simply how it was before the pandemic, some of these games being portable wouldn't bother me.

But seeing as I'm in my room on most of my free time anyways, and mixed in with the facts that my breaks at my current job aren't an hour long like they were at Walmart and, mandatory OT aside, I have three days off in a week...IDK, it's just harder to justify getting a game on my Switch when, if my PC has the game, it'll be easier to do it on there.

All I'll say is that Nintendo better be getting locked and loaded up for 2021. There needs to be Switch game reveal after Switch game reveal. If it was me, I'd be like:

*January 2021 - Metroid Prime 4 reveal trailer along with announcement of port of the Metroid Prime Trilogy and a remaster of Metroid Samus Returns.

*February 2021 - BOTW2 new trailer along with something for Pokemon

*March 2021 - Insert something Smash-related here. Maybe a character reveal trailer? Release higher-quality Joy-cons that have had the stick drift problem resolved.

*April 2021 - Mario Kart 9 trailer, along with announcement of Game Boy/Game Boy Color/Game Boy Advance being added for Switch subscribers. Slated for November 2021

*May 2021 - Bayonetta 3 trailer, slated for December due to it hopefully being in development for so long.

*June 2021 - Xenoblade Chronicles X port announcement for Autumn 2022, along with announcement of the Switch Home/Switch Pro launching November.

*July 2021 - Super Mario 3D World port announcement. Also, another Smash announcement, stream, trailer for a new character, or something big to that effect.

*August 2021 - Insert more trailers for some assortment of the games mentioned in the first three months of the year, with Metroid Prime 4 being a highlight having a release date of Spring 2022. Pre-orders opening up for Metroid Prime Trilogy and Metroid Samus Returns announced at the end of said trailer.

*September 2021 - Port of F-Zero GX announced for Switch, along with Zelda Twilight Princess HD with options for both motion controls and traditional controls, Wind Waker HD, along with Zelda Skyward Sword and a trailer for BOTW2, with announcement of a demo of the game being available right at the trailer's conclusion on the eShop, and a release date of Winter 2022.

*October 2021 - N64 coming to Switch subscribers, along with announcement of a port of Eternal Darkness, slated for 2022. Astral Chain 2 announced for Summer 2022.

*November 2021 - Flood of new games/ports for the Switch, including, but not limited to:

1. Mario Kart 9

2. Metroid Prime Trilogy

3. Metroid Samus Returns

4. Super Mario 3D World

5. Zelda Twilight Princess HD

6. Zelda Wind Waker HD

7. Zelda Skyward Sword

*December 2021 - Final Smash Ultimate character releases, F-Zero GX port is released, and Bayonetta 3 releases. Port of Zelda A Link Between Worlds announced for May 2022.

*2022 features the big name releases mentioned here, along with an annoucement of the Switch 2, which will feature backwards compatibility with everything from the Switch 1 both digitally and physically.

This is about what I could envision happening optimistically with some considerations made for what'd be realistic given that it's Nintendo. I'm sure there'd be a lot of smaller releases for this and that from them, games not mentioned or described here, and some of this probably isn't gonna happen. And not to mention, it's honestly gonna really depend on the state of things in the world after this year. Otherwise, this is the best I could see Nintendo doing to win people back or those who are kind of regretting their purchase with how Nintendo is handling everything this year.

All I'll say is that, going forward from the Switch 1, they really need to start cracking on making enough games for the next generation system to where it's not gonna be a question if there's gonna be a new this or that game.

Either that, or don't go cheap on the hardware for the Switch 2 so it can be competitive with whatever is coming next in the gaming industry.

Im thinking Nintendo might be saving all their big guns for when the PS5/Series X launch......if not then they shot themselves in the foot this year.

I think some of us might be forgetting that we've had a pandemic that affected development of many things, not just video games, for a number of months.

The reason we're seeing a lot more indies sprouting out, and why it seems like such a vast ratio, is because most indie games are very small studios, or literally one/two people working on it that didn't have the limitations of social distancing even remotely stop them from continuing development.

Despite my love for indie games, I can understand the disappointment, and this isn't supposed to make you feel better - just explain why.

Hence, why I think Nintendo, kind of like when Samus charges her arm cannon for especially fierce blasts, needs unleash it all out in 2021 so people can have something new to look forward to for the system.

Honestly, both PS5 and XBSX are both looking really sparse when it comes to launch titles anyway. The only reason to pre-order either of them is to play BC titles with better performance. Because of COVID, none of the big three have had a particularly great year. Regardless, their hardware sales seem largely unaffected, and may even be seeing a boost as a result of all this.

Woo hoo, I can't wait for more games for the switch that I can play on every other platform I own
with the switch being pretty much the only handheld on the market, it getting more ports is only a good thing, gpd's range of products is 400 to 900 dollars s switch which is 200 to 300

It could be because the Nintendo Switch has am ARMv8 (64-bit) Nvidia Tegra SoC that isn't as powerful as most modern x86 CPUs. Meanwhile, the GPD Win is more like the standard desktop and laptop computers that use x86 CPUs, and licensing the x86 instruction set from Intel (also the 64-bit part from AMD) may play a factor in cost. It looks like these two kinds of CPU are targeted for different kinds of markets.

How is Origami King a bruh moment? It's a great game. Just because the battle system isn't TTYD 2: Electric Boogaloo doesn't instantly make it a bad game.

i was looking forward to playing PMTOK.. i really tried to play it... i couldn't.. maybe it's just me growing out of Paper Mario... or growing out of RPGs... or growing out of games.

I thought A Hat in Time was already on Switch?

Also, Zelda 2 is already a thing and Metroid 4 is Metroid Fusion...even if this trailer does have me curious about what Metroid 4 would've been like:

Would love to see a suit or power up that can do some of the cool shit on display here, but with color as opposed to the Game Boy Dot Matrix filter!

you only prove my point further then, the switch is the only handheld for the general consumer market and that's pretty sad

I hope they skip Mario Kart 9 and release 10 instead, just like Windows and Iphone.
