I followed all of the steps from the "delete the fake ticket" thread. I was able to locate the ticket using the keys.txt file. I opened up the ticket in HxD and removed the bad ticket which then brought the file size down to 696 bytes. Then I downloaded the correct FTPiieverywhere and added it to the sd card and brought up the homebrew channel via the web exploit. Once I accessed FTPiieverywhere the gamepad informed me that is was listening to my ip address xxx.xxx.x.x and then I used both filezilla and winscp to access storage_slc. Each and every time I attempted to get to
storage_slc/rights/tickets/apps I kept getting the error message "failed to retrieve directory listing" I worked through a number of workarounds like changing it from active to passive, etc. but was unable to continue as it was getting late. I will continue to work through this particular issue tonight but if anyone here has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks again for all of your help!
Using the web exploit, boot up Mocha, then load the HBL again (mii channel), and use the mocha version of ftpiiu. I think it requires CFW to work correctly.

Is it normal for when you try to load an elf with 2.1 that it automatically goes back to the HBL Menu? (I can't load any of my elf apps like the App Store or FTPiiU)

I get the error when trying to compile the Homebrew Wii U Launcher:
linking ... homebrew_launcher.elf
c: / devkitpro / devkitppc / bin /../ lib / gcc / powerpc-eabi / 6.3.0 /../../../../ powerpc-eabi / bin / ld.exe: can not find -lmadcollect2 .exe: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make [1]: *** [/c/Users/yosoy/Documents/GitHub/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf] Error 1
make: *** [build] Error 2

Could someone tell me what to change?

all apps are checked at boot.
the best you can have to get that homebrew inside a system app without signature check patched is to use the browserhax, it will temporarily (until you shutdown) put it into the MiiMaker channel. it's a memory patch, so the miimaker file is still good signed when checked by the console, but it's HBL program which is loaded from memory.

if what you want is a channel (not system), then you need signature patch from a custom firmware. either haxchi or cbhc, and install the channel version of Homebrew Launcher.
CBHC+HBL channel is probably the easiest to get access to homebrew right away from a channel.
