After reading through the first two pages I’ve come to the conclusion that the OP was using a trimmed version to try and play which would result in the same message correct?

Question for the OP how big are the xci files? Specifically splatoon 2.

Both US and EU version of this game is sitting at 3.71GB (untrimmed xci file)

Trimmed or not trimmed it’s the same result with the error code.

Nope, i just tried my backup of mk8 to see if it would let me play online. It will not...

It was also the first time connecting online on this switch (second switch).
Was just thinking (and correct me if this is wrong), but do you think perhaps that Nintendo can detect if a game is loading data from the Switch cart slot as opposed to internal/microSD? You said that you made a dump which includes the game's own certs, but still failed online, yet the original on cart works fine.

Maybe TX blocked online play? The dumps might not be 100% 1 to 1 copies. Seems like we are missing something.

Don't know why it's so hard for some people to understand. Nintendo obviously flipped a switch server side and now any game without valid certs that tries to connect to their online system is restricted. This is an application-level ban, not an account ban or console ban.

We can only hope Nintendo leaves it at that and doesn't begin console/ID banning.

It seems pointless going out your way to try and get banned, in the future you will be able to have an Emunand for hacks and homebrew stuff, allowing you to keep your actual system legit for if you do want to play online with legit games.

@TotalJustice @Ty_ i have an idea why my splatoon 2 online worked fine at morning, i dont used a BBB dumps.
So I probably had the correct cert dump. People have acquired the same ISOS, then Nintendo banned this Certs to prevent online play.

Were you playing online? Was the dump headerless? Back in the 3DS days you just got a generic error with a headerless game, and couldn't connect at all. Is this not the case with the Switch?

Back in the 3DS days, we used CIA files which didn’t need headers

But Nintendo learned and adapted. It's clear that Nintendo can detect if you run it from a cart, and if you try to run a cart dump from your SD Card. They really gotten better at this.

but with being able to transplant entire games into an icon, im going to assume maybe a flashcart will arise in the future.

If your emunand gets banned your sysnand too. There's no way around it.

I should have made more clear the point I was trying to make is don't use the Emunand online so your Sysnand remains clean and unbanned, allowing you to play online with legit games and have all the benefits of hacks / homebrew on your Emunand.

Best of both words on one Switch.

Since Nintendo can ban your console, emuNAND doesn't protect you.
