So a weird problem.. the microSD on one of my kids Switches died and I can't where I saved the copy of the SX OS license.

I was able to successfully use the SX OS license generator and was able to boot into a 10.2 emunand.

Installed the SX Installer since the kids like playing from a hard disk (don't get me started lol).

Everything looks good but it does not recognize the hard disk.

Actually the SX Installer screen comes up with just a screen showing the system memory/microSD Card/time in the upper right corner but no folders to select from.

I tried installing v17 of Tinfoil and it shows the folders but nothing under the usb drive options.

Does the hacked license mess up USB support in some way?

Or does anyone know how to get the SX Installer to show folders?

TIA

I vaguely remember this issue. Have you tried starting tinfoil with the Internet turned on?

As for tinfoil recognizing hard disk you need to make a new profile

- in file browser and change the protocol to usbhdd and x to save it. Should recognize USB folders then

Thanks, I will give that a try when I get home from work.

Also I forgot to say but from the Album you can see and play all the games on the hard disk.

Just can't see ANY folders from SX Installer so the USB is working.

Yeah sx installer is outdated AF. It's just an old tinfoil. Use latest tinfoil and add a usbhdd profile. 👍

Version 17 allows you to run XCI's from microSD. You can also install them.

How? When I browse xci from the browser I only have the option to install like a normal nsp game file

He is wrong, even if you put a XCI on your SD card you can't XCI mount with tinfoil v17, I just tried it, it give you the option to install not XCI mount

Works fine for me.

XCI on root of SD card
Select XCI on left
Then select XCI and press X

I am running a 10.2 emunand with SX OS 3.10.

Not sure if this works in Atmosphere.

Here's a short video that shows you can launch from XCI in Tinfoil 17 with SX OS 3.10

Xci on the root makes a XCI tab? Wtf.

That won't work with a USB HDD tho, right?
I can't get anything to access from USB. Nothing shows up. Not a hard disk or even a flash drive.

What do you have your USB drive formatted as?

It only work with SX OS, you can't XCI mount with Atmosphere, I just tried it, it work because of SX OS.

I believe that has to do with the license.

Did you make a usbhdd profile? My HDD is fat32 I don't know about other formats. I imagine ntfs works just fine.

Honestly what would be the advantage though? They both (installed or mounted XCI) are stored on the sd card anyways?

Mounting from a hard drive.
My hard drive has like 200 games. It takes 3.5 minutes to load the SXOS rom menu before you can select a game. You can simply launch instantly via the xci tab this way. I didn't know you could do this!

I know this, mount from hdd, works with SXOS but that's only with FW 11 or less right? And not with Atmosphere?
-Nevermind didn't read before posts, sorry, I get it now.
